    Purchased the same plucker here in Australia made in China ,true workmanship and quality poor but does operate well and is a labour saving device when processing. But you are right a lot of sharp edges and damage to the exterior and low quality stainless steel. Good luck and happy trouble free processing

    I have a Yardbird made in China as well. It is fantastic. I do 70 birds for 4 years now. I also have a milking machine and washer all work well

      Yep, it does indeed work quite well, the shoddy construction and the disappearing seller situation is what really disappointed me.

    I have the same one, looks like it was dragged behind the truck, but worked just fine. I’ll make some safety and convenience improvements later

    What's the big pulley size??

    You bought it because it was 100s less than other pluckers. That’s why i bought a vevor.
    Tighten all bolts. Kept the wheels off so sits firmly on a pallet when plucking.
    Pay 50% to double for other pluckers.

    the speed of that motor looks like it would shred the chicken and the feathers :D

      Its looks like that, but it actually worked really good and got 99% of the feathers off the chickens and about 85% off the ducks.

    I would ask please, people, buy stuff made by your local Americans. Our economy really really needs it. I am not talking about Costco, Walmart, etc. You know what I mean.

    • @Liberty_DIY
      @Liberty_DIY  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We all know what you mean and most of us usually endeavor to buy only American. Only problem is, is that some products such as the plucker are hard to find made in the USA and are usually very expensive for small farms. Really sucks.

      The one I bought was sold under the brand "Vevor". but as I later found out this unit is sold under countless "made up" brands, some of which are listed in the video description.

    Work with thin metels, you learn how easy they ding up. You get what you choose to pay for. Dont buy cheap and expect expensive parts.

    600 some odd bucks for a machine you have to rebuild? And it's no big deal? Return it as damaged.

      Turned into a fiasco, the amazon seller disappeared and I decided the headache was not worth it. I did get it running correctly and used it for about 60 birds so far.

      I was thinking the same thing, speed is so so for chickens but when I did the ducks that need more time in the plucker I realized that slowing it down a bit may help quite a lot. It's worth the experiment. I will find and install a speed controller over the winter months and test it out next summer.

      Not sure if you know, but add some dawn dish soap to your hot water when dipping ducks, removes the oil on the feathers and they pluck easier.
