    Born and Raised in Asheville--- I Love my hometown BUT it has Definitely changed over the years.
    Unfortunately the cost of living in A-town now is hard for most that were born and raised here. Too much emphasis put on Tourism. Which I understand can Help the economy but. . . A lot of the changes are not positively affecting the locals.
    Again- I love my hometown but I just wish some things were different.
    My family and I do love and support the local restaurants and breweries. 😊
    Asheville and surrounding areas are a Beautiful area to experience. We spend a Lot of time outside... whether its here in WNC or the mountains in East TN.

      once tourists "discover" a place, it usually gets ruined quickly.

      Got your wish. No tourism, at least for a while. I live in Arden. Love the area, but traffic does get crazy, even around here, in the summer months. But lately it’s been nice...for some reason...

      @@kimmyc2862 Gas prices and economic collapse may have something to do with less traffic everywhere as now there is remote working.

    That pinball museum looks like so much fun. I really want to go there now!

      It's across the street from our Elder and Sage Community Gardens. I'm one of the managers of the gardens. Every day we see a line waiting for the museum to open.

      We went to the Pinball Museum last year. If you grew up in the 80’s or 90’s, it’s like reliving your childhood with all the games, toys, memorabilia, and pop culture items. Highly recommended.

    Atlanta - (where I live) is changing. Very nice people from other countries have great jobs and offer hospitable customer service. I am just a 60-year-old, jobless women who needs to live in the cheap. Thanks for letting me know not to move to a place that is so divided and expensive. There is a storm coming and a lot of people won't make it through World War 3. Be good to one another and stand together when it comes. 😇

    The video was ok...There is more to Asheville than what was shown in the video. Grove park Inn , Biltmore estates, French Broad river, Glass rock, The Blue ridge Parkway to name a few...I feel like they barely gave an essence of Asheville. Hopefully they can do better.

      how can they not have covered Biltmore...thats like the #1 thing to see there

    • @richardlawson4317
      @richardlawson4317 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Biltmore is not in downtown, and is pricey. Although it is the number one attraction here. If George Vanderbilt hadn't built it, Asheville would be very different indeed.

    I’m already planning a trip in early October and must say none of this looks appealing. I can find much of this in my own city 6 hrs north - minus the mountains but we do have lots of hills. I think we’ll visit the beauty outdoors.

    Why would you even mention the River Arts District and then show absolutely ZERO galleries from that area, and then the ONE gallery you did show is actually located NOWHERE NEAR River Arts District, but in DOWNTOWN Asheville on Lexington Avenue? Not a very well made tourism video.

    Thanks, but you're a foodie? Love the micro-breweries, but no Asian: no sushi, no Chinese, no Vietnamese, no Indian - that one hurts, no Thai, only one (probably watered down) Mexican, that I can see. I wouldn't expect an Ethiopian restaurant, but come on!
    Overall, liberal politics can get tiring, but it's a nice change for the South, I think. I hope.

    I'm a born and raised local, 6th generation actually, and all the transplants (mostly from Florida, new York and California) are driving the housing market sky high where many locals move out of state and either can't afford to be here or just don't want to be. The influx of people moving here is causing DESTRUCTION to the very mountains you all come here for because of the apartments and hotels being built. This is why many TRUE locals aren't very friendly to transplants. Please don't move here. We're beyond full. The traffic is horrendous compared to what it was, the drug problem is RIDICULOUS, homelessness is RAMPANT, crime is high, prices are high and it takes two plus jobs to survive. Sounds like heaven right?

      Raven Black I’m moving there from Florida mid-July. Hate the heat here. Figure I’ll stay as long as there’s money to be made.

    • @RavenBlack_7
      @RavenBlack_7 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Encourageable good luck with that is all I can say. There isn't much money to be made in this shit hole anymore... you have to have it when you move here, like a trust fund or extreme savings. But, most people from Florida are rich for some reason so I take it you've got that part covered. I was luckily born into a family where I inherited several acres of land on a mountain here, a nice 6 bedroom 2 bath home, own my car e.t.c im in my 30s and don't have to work, but for most people here, it's an EXTREME struggle to live here. I'm not struggling financially, but I'm hating it here more and more because of the influx of transplants destroying everything. You'll fit right in. Everyone here is from Florida. 🙄😆

    • @RavenBlack_7
      @RavenBlack_7 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@Encourageable it was 95 here today so it's still ridiculous heat wise. It used to only get to be in the 80s but with all of the pavement going up everywhere, the trees being cut down and the apartment buildings blocking the mountain breezes, we're turning into Atlanta and with that comes the heat.

      I appreciate you, Raven Black! I'm sending my 2 cents back at you because I am a native Charlestonian. Let me tell you, Charleston is in the same shit as Asheville! SAME over development (thanks so much you money hungry real estate developers), SAME onslaught of people, SAME insanity provoking traffic, SAME crime stats (very possibly more), and SAME feelings of disgust felt by all locals as they observe the once peaceful, serene, and charming Charleston AND surrounding areas metamorphise before their eyes into a city they can no longer recognize!!! YANKEES, GO THE HELL HOME AND STAY THERE!!!

      @@RavenBlack_7 lol you sound like every decent place in the country. Bitching about transplants . You don’t own the region you don’t own the state , you might think you and only you and the “original “ people deserve to live there. Sorry scooter it don’t work that way. It is the United States of America when someone goes off to war they don’t go to protect Asheville they go for the whole country cause we all live in the whole country. You and your family didn’t sprout from the dirt you were a transplant once too someone bitched about your family once. I left one place because of overcrowding now I will have to leave the second for the same reasons , high prices and overcrowding. It’s ok just let’s you live in more place then one. This country is a great place , too bad some people like you think it only consists of your little hole that you want to stay in your whole life. That being said Asheville looks like weirdoville a good place to visit not live.
