He healed my broken heart and saved my oldest daughter in ICU so Give Him the Glory and the Power!The Holy Spirit impressed this hymn on my heart this morning so remember Him in all your ways and He will direct your paths! The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD! SELAH !

Brings back beautiful memories of being raised in my beloved New Orleans ..my Great Aunt was Matriarch of the family ..she was ..bless her soul a strong Baptist church organist .. Mahalia Jackson was a childhood friend.she played for Mahalia Jackson's funeral in New Orleans ..she counted James Cleveland as a good friend among many other gospel icons ...a lot of our family are Catholics being Creoles of the Louisiana Gulf Coast parishes..but my Great Aunt was an old school Baptist .we had a lot of advantages as Creoles ..and we used those advantages to further the cause of freedom and justice ...two of my uncles were lawyers during the Civil Rights Era.. defending folks from Louisiana to Georgia.defending protesters ..and anyone who had the boot of oppression on their neck...I was a teen then and went along during the summer rallies at churches throughout Jim Crow land during the movement..and this song was one that really inspired us during those days .. Thanks Auntie for raising us hearing and feeling God's word through powerful music ..hearing choir members rehearse at home and at church ..and for you having me as a child sit next to you on some occasions ..funerals .. Sunday services etc while you played the organ ..and to my uncles who let me see the power of unity during dark times in our history as a people ❤️❤️❤️

When I was ordained in 2001, following seminary, the gospel choir at the multiracial inner City Church that called me sang this gospel classic (which was my favorite at my home church too when I was younger) and I had been looking for recordings of it done in the same style for years. This is the closest. Thank you and God bless to the people who sang this and filmed it.
