Join me on my pursuit for Fire Pit Gold, I hunt the fire pits after a very busy weekend. Fire pits are very trashy areas and make it extremely hard to metal detect. Only skilled detectorist can manage their way through the blips and bleeps of Bolsa Chica State Beach fire pits. Bolsa Chica State Beach is located in the city of Huntington Beach, California. I find a beautiful gold ring and a bunch of crusty coins.
I treasure hunt using a Minelab Equinox 800. I would like to thank the CKG Scoop company for providing me with such an awesome beach scoop. I was really missing Old Rusty and to have something almost identical is like having my old friend and gold magnet back.

I pull a minimum of 10 tent stakes each time I hunt good ole trash beach. 😂😂😂😂 Great finds Jim thanks for sharing
I have trained myself well to avoid tent stakes but I still dig a lot of them, Lol! 👍👍😎
Also, a ton of iron nails😊
Foil, a pull tab, or a crusty penny is MUCH better than finding a used vape pen.
The meat fork is in good condition though!! 🖒

The thing I am realizing with the nox is that you just have to plan on digging alot of trash to clean up the gold. I have dug gold items from 1 to 20 with iron grunts and without. A ring sitting angled or broken or a pendant, chain, next to or below other trash...on and on and on. I just make my mind up that I will dig it all on the beach. Now bending down and digging a plug for every signal...nah. Looking forward to your firepit tutorial.

I do search hard for that shiny stuff, Lol! I do like hunting the fire pits but it is not for everyone, very difficult and trashy so Patients is the key!

How many nails came up first??? Pallet fires!
mostly bottle caps, then firepit aluminum slaw, as I ignore the iron targets. Otherwise it would the thousands of nails, on windy days when the dry sand blows off the beach you can see the nails everywhere. along with all the other heavier metals. I love those days.

Tides and work schedule determine my detecting schedule. Though, I will be off again on Fridays starting in May and that is when I usually hunt with my group of friends. Thank you!

How many tones do you set? How different are 5 tones vs 50 for you?
5 tones for most part, I occasionally try 50 tones, because if I did train my ear to 50 tones I would dig less bad targets. It is so hard to train my ear at 50 tones at Bolsa Chica, a nice quite beach would be better to start with.
