I work in healthcare and my mother did not survive ca so I'd like to say thank you for your candor and chosing to share your journey. I too am a person first but I also work in healthcare and I feel like it's always important to remember what patients go through and because you have patients to remember that I can be in the patients situation.
My dad passed from cancer a few years before I was diagnosed and I was in my first year of residency then. It must’ve been so hard for you with your mom. Yes being on the patient side has opened my eyes and allowed me to be that much more empathetic for my patients. It’s a tough system we have to navigate through and thankfully it’s been easier for me being a healthcare worker.
I’ d like to add that you appear to be handling this with such grace and class your make- up is perfect and you look well which does not belie what you must go through in your head everyday…. I was born in the Bay Area but when my mom died the trajectory of my life was changed to bc of ca, I was raised elsewhere and I live with her loss still and the fear that ill get such a dx too. I understand now as a professional that some ppl can live long lives but just have cancer chronically but no one wants it ….But I wish for you all the best and that you keep going even when it’s dark sometimes for all that you bring to the world, your family and your patients.
Wow! This is such a refreshing perspective. I'm now a new subscriber. I'm training to be a naturopath here in the UK, planning to specialise in Ayurveda (the corresponding bodywork is yoga and meditation) and I work in the NHS as a medical secretary where I process alot of cancer referrals. This is because I want to understand both fields like you. My ultimate aim is to help patients through cancer which why I follow alot of cancer journeys. It's so positive to see a traditionally educated doctor be open to holistic treatments. Keep going, healing is not linear. From my studies, it will take longer to heal via the natural route and healing can can cause symptoms that were experienced in reverse order (homeopathic perspective). Very important to focus on diet and bodywork as you are doing. Have you tried Castor oil packs? These are very good for detoxifying the liver and as you believe cancer is a metabolic disease, the liver is crucial in healing. I will be following your journey now. I wish you good health ❤

Detoxing the liver, boosting the immune system and repairing the mitochondria are all key in healing cancer and chronic diseases. I plan on getting more training in integrative medicine/functional medicine soon, just have to find my path.
Your comment has made my day. Firstly, I am certain you will find your path as I have found mine. It takes being open minded which you are. You have an incredible foundation of being a doctor already and going through your journey with cancer you will be able to empathise and empower patients. I hope more doctors will train in both fields but I understand the time, commitment and finance with going into both. I think functional medicine doctors are the future in my humble opinion. It took me a long time to find my path (about 15 years) and I'm still relatively young in my late 30s. Who knows what they want to do at 18? I didn't start out in the medical field but I have since discovered that this my calling. I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Criminology and then I trained to become a paralegal. Working on medical negligence cases, I realised I actually want to be in the medical field and so I took the leap in 2020 to leave behind a career in law where I was not happy to re-train. Best decision I ever made. I'm currently over half way through my first diploma. I have a long way to go but never been happier. Next diploma will be in nutrition and then finally I will specialise in Ayurveda, the medical system of native country. I have to do anatomy and physiology and pathology and disease inbetween. I work alongside doctors so I can only imagine the years of study you have undergone. I have carried out alot of my own research into cancer as it has affected my family (like most people) and I want my mother to not fear it so. I have an incredible book about Homotoxicology (developed in the 1950s) that shows me the progression of disease towards cancer. I think the key is prevention absolutely and educating patients how to reverse imbalance before getting to the stages of cell change. I do realise there are genetic factors to consider. It means alot to me that you have said we need more practitioners. I can only be a practitioner in the UK but I did consider studying elsewhere.❤ You are helping alot of people by casting light on holistic medicine with being a doctor as many people will listen and it is about sharing knowledge and empowering people. You are truly embodying what it means to be a doctor. Afterall, doctor comes from the Latin word 'docere' which means teacher. My wish for the future is that we can enpower patients to be able to take control of their own health as you are and also to support holistic medicine alongside traditional medicine so that patients can have access to both when healing and returning to balance. I sincerely hope you are going to be okay, i can't even imagine what you went through in these 7 years. 2.5 years ago i was diagnosed with testicular cancer, luckily only 1 testicle. After surgery i went to the CT scan and they weren't sure about thickened lymph nodes, was it because of the cancer or do i have naturally slightly thicker lymph nodes so i send me to chemotherapy just to make sure if it is cancer they can annihilate it. My whole cancer treatment lasted less than 4 months and after that I felt very exhausted, currently i have only regular control every 4-6 months and so far everything is stable. And you have so much power and positive vibes after 7 years. My type of cancer responds well to chemotherapy and was in the initial stage so i didn't look much for alternative methods of treatment, but I'm sure there is plenty of methods you can try, i would like to try to help you to find some methods that might help you. Thank you for sharing. You've been through so much and I hope you'll find something that works for you. I'm into an integrative approach as well and when my cancer returned again after surgery and radiation, I started a repurposed drugs protocol of Mebendazole, Atorvastatin, Metformin and Doxycycline. It's prescribed by the Care Oncology Clinic. I also did chemo and that got me to NED 3 years ago after stage 4 cervical. I believe the integration of these 2 approaches helped me out. I still take the COC protocol to prevent recurrence. I'm sure you've come across this protocol and was curious of what you thought of it or if you'd tried it.

I have done more supplements as I was hesitant to take the other drugs due to potential side effects. I took Ivermectin instead of fenben/meben but not consistently. I might consider it in the future if the cancer keeps progressing. Right now it seems to be ok minus the recent growth in the skull. I'm so happy for you that you are in remission. Did you do anything with your diet and other lifestyle changes?

I just had a lump that grew very slowly otherwise no other symptoms. The lump was not painful at all and felt like a muscle knot. It was pretty firm/hard.
Have you considered gynura procumbens? I dont know if it will help with your type of cancer but I hear it has helped some cancer patients. You can grow it in California

Hey, I have actually done a lot of fasting myself. A 7 day water only fast was the longest but now I’ve lost so much weight from the recent femur surgeries and now brain surgery that I will take a break from fasting for a while. It surely helps with cancer though and yes I am aware of the fasting clinics.
The surrogacy was very expensive and usually ranges widely. For us we had help with the embryo freezing through Livestrong that helped cancer patients at the time and everything worked out for us with one try so it was about 90k.
Yes in the end it is all God’s will and praying for that miracle all the time. Surely though there are things we can do to help ourselves get better and God would want that for us.
@@lindc1070 yes, this is what I found too. I became Christian less than 2 years ago and since then I haven't gone back to yoga. It really did help me though when I was doing it before that. Now I go to the gym to weight train and walk/use other cardio machines for exercise.
@@NhiTranLee good for you. Just trust God for your healing. I want to share with you my husband's testimony. He was diagnosed with stage 5 ESRD in Nov 2020, GFR was 9. I asked his nephrologist if it could be AKI as onset was quite sudden. He told me scarring of the kidneys indicated it was not and told me GFR could be raised but not above 15. He didnt need dialysis immediately as his potassium and phosphate levels were normal, no water retention. My whole family prayed, including several doctors. He started improving. A month after discharge stage 4. Now he is stage 3B and still improving. His Nephrologist is very surprised , describes this as a miracle and now says we should aim for 3A. Of course we have been doing dietary intervention too and his hypertension is under control. Just sharing to say God can do the medically impossible.
No, I worked for Kaiser out in Northern California, so I had insurance through them. It wasn’t the best since I have a very rare type of sarcoma and I need to see a sarcoma specialist. Thankfully, things were pretty stable when I was there.

Yes! Actually my husband mentioned that to me because I used to always put my phone in my back pocket and I did it on the right side where it grew.

As a Christian I have found out that I should not practice yoga due to some of the poses. That is all I will say. Look it up if interested.
