- Mason Silva and Louie Lopez have more in common than being top pro skaters, they’ve got best friend and filmer Ryan Lee. This is the story of three homies who grew up skating together, made it into a career and what it took to film the gnarliest video parts of their lives in 2020. doubt louie will read this or even remember this! but two years ago i was working lifts at keystone resort during the zumiez party. i just recently broke my arm, and also was dealing with some things outside of work, and on top of that it being super busy i was just having a terrible day at work. louie came up the gondola and i noticed who it was. i ran over all psyched to say whats up and before i even said anything he greeted me and treated me like a bro. it was a short 15 second interaction but that absolutely made my day and i will never forget that
So many things to unpack here. First, this was extremely enlightening to see how much a filmer actually influences a skater and what they produce. Second, we all kind of guessed at this already, but Louie's skating is literally so versatile and flow-y that he sporadically comes up with insane tricks AT the spots and then just does them with no real premeditation. And lastly, the closer look at Mason's boardslide-drop-boardslide shows that at the end of each flat there's a tiny bump, just making it that much harder to pull the already-insane level of that trick. Can't wait for more from these three.

Thanks Matt Bublitz! I really appreciate this. As a skateboarder, a fan of skateboarding, and a nerdy dude. I feel connected with these guys, even though my skateboarding is nowhere near the level of these perennial soty candidates. Great to just realize that skateboarding brings us together, at/on all levels.✊

I'm a 47 year old, lifelong skateboarder with two shredded ACLs and a hundred extra pounds on me waist who now lives vicariously through you. Never stop, but always remember that one day you won't have the choice. Live kid.

it was weird he said they ride the same shape, FA and Real have very different concaves and come from different boardshops.. same size maybe but shape doubt it
@@skankwave nah FA and DLX both use bbs now. I think the shapes might come kind of close. Mason rides the 8.28 from DLX which is super close in dimensions to a 8.25 from FA (in terms of width and wheelbase). If they’re both on indys I couldn’t imagine it being too different unless Mason was skating switch or nollie. The nose on FA decks are super fat. Anyways that was my nerd shit of the day thanks for coming to my ted talk lol
