I will keep holding out for a Miyota 9075 powered microbrand to screatch true GMT itch! Haven't quute found the right combination of price and availability with a date complication.

This watch was one of my grail watches. I managed to find a NoS example back in 21. The bracelet was a little tight on my wrist so I swapped the original folding clasp for a generic one off ebay which was about 5mm longer. I must say the watch also looks great on a black Geckota Handmade Premium Italian Leather strap. Because of the design of the watch there is no unsightly gap between the strap and the case. The Geckota rally straps are fantastic straps as well.
That's a nice watch. The color and sunburst effect on the watch are next level awesome. The price? Meh. I won't get it. But I fully support any Seiko fan who does. I don't think they'll regret it.
Another mega show MWC! This is a really well done reissue from Seiko but I think that price is a bit too high for anyone but the most die hard Seiko enthusiasts to consider. I think the Alpinist GMT still sits atop the pile of Seiko releases in 2023 but this is a very nice reissue for sure!
It’s mad that they have priced it so high . Dealers will be getting it at less than half of the retail trust me. 19mm was very popular with Seiko back in the 70s, even the original Willard 6105-8110 was 19mm. I’m pleased they kept it because to make it 20 you would have to increase the whole case size. Seiko did make another watch like this without the GMT but I forget the reference. I walked away from one recently at a watch fair for £80 and now regret it badly!! Since the sport 5 video I have one now from First Class watches which I’m really pleased with.
Afternoon Russell, I am so amazed you are reviewing this watch. I have been looking at a Black Bay Pro or something very similar, all stainless inc bezel. So I've been looking at alternives Googling away and this came up and I just loved it. It has everything that historical nod, great strap, dims are good and the case shape and dial colour are fabulous. So I am pleased you’ve handled it and positively reviewed it. That friction only bezel I wouldn't have known that, do you think it will move about with general wear? I think youve just cost me 1500 quid.
It all depends on the movement. If they go with a mecha quartz probably around that 1000 dollar mark give or take a few hundred. If the they go with an auto your looking at 2000 plus. This is assuming it's not a limited edition.
MWC, great watch and review. I just think you missed the section house of pagani, because the caseback is completely a throe back to the quintessential ones from back in the 60's and early 70's. Shame that it's so high priced.
This one is a fantastic watch! I have a King Samurai Shu-Iro, and the only thing that I don't like about it is the Prospex "X" on the dial. This dial is just perfect. Unfortunately I think I won't get a green light from my wife. I bought a lots of watches in this year from the moonwatch to the Casio A-53W 😂😅🙈

I wish they would’ve followed what they did with the SSK and put 24 markers on the inside as well. But they were probably sticking to the original design.
@@todoroki it does with a top hat / boxed crystal, it adds additional 1 - 2 mm to the watch total thickness. If the 12.6 doesn’t include the crystal, it can ended up to 14.6 mm - which is pretty thick imo If it is a dd or flat crystal, I would not bother to ask this.
My 1969 Omega Seamaster 120 has a 19mm strap. I became rather adept at trimming 20mm straps to fit with a razor blade. 20mm NATO straps would often be fine without modification.
I don't mid the prospex logo but seiko needs to learn that only ones gets to get the big font. If your going to put seiko in big letters on the dial everything prospex needs to be shrunken down to relatively the same size font as the WR rating.
Looks like the chapter ring is turned slightly to the right and even from your shots markers have plenty of imperfections or dust on them. Good old Seiko and their lack of QC. I like the design though.
You tried to dislike it the second you saw the video my friend. The only imperfections would be the surface of the crystal where I’m not a perfectionist enough to get rid of every dust particle. Listen this is over priced definitely but! You can say you like it!!!! ;)

People have to accept the price if you want this watch. Yes you can get watches from Oris, Sinn, and even some Longines at this price, but none of them have anything that looks like this.
I also love it, but before you even revealed the price, as soon as you said 'limited and 6R', I said, "well its going to be at least $1,200" Which at least for me I just cannot reconcile for this. I love it, but just not $1,500 worth of love. All Seikos end up on the secondary market after a bit so I think I will wait for that.
Im between this and a blue SSK that I want to mod to look like the offspring of this, an astronaut and a P01, on the other hand this one’s just getting 90% of what I want with a price increase, decisions decisions, any advice?

On the spot. Seiko keeps raising the prices for 6R watches without making any QC improvements.
For that price I think it should have included the 6R64 (the true GMT version of the 6R54).
I'd buy it if it did. Without that functionality it's pretty overpriced.

I was sooo close, I was guessing $1,700.00 with the exchange rate I was close. That bracelet and the face dial, just perfect.

Bracelet is SO nice. Its like an elevated casio bracelet with good materials and finishing.
The boxed sapphire pumped the price. But you know it’s a turtle case and i will going to absolutely love it so why not.
