Yeah it does move a lot. It’s one of the main reasons I didn’t get the newer 1.5 diesel version, that shakes all over the place on startup and driving too!
On my F21 (2013 plate) there’s a button by the drive options to turn the parking sensors on and off. Do you not have that? Couldn’t make it out but it looks like you do?
Hi Ali, sorry I didn't see this comment! The AUX works fine it's when I use that adapter cable that comes with later model iPhones it just doesn't work at all?
Hello, don’t know if you do have any idea about bmw 1series 116d f20 - 2013. Am having a hard time with Bluetooth audio( telephone 📞 Bluetooth is connected ) but can’t seem to see audio streaming, please I need your help or idea, what can be done
I’m not sure I can really comment on reliability as I’ve only had the car from 52k to 68k miles but all has been well. It uses a litre of oil every 5000 miles and the car gets through DRL and sidelight bulbs quite a lot. I serviced the car myself also (in my other videos) so I’m not entirely sure of the servicing costs either.
@@IAMASPANNER hi bro you’ve had the car for 2 years now could you please tell me if these are reliable as I’ve bought one 2 weeks ago with 42k mileage (2015)
From someone in England the Mark X is a pretty cool unusual car here. It really depends what you want out of a car, they’re a different type of car altogether. I like my 1 series but would’ve preferred a quieter engine and Bluetooth music of some sort as standard for a premium car.
There are only 2 Diesel engines and the 1.5 3 cylinder shook too much compared to this. For economy I wanted diesel not petrol. I don’t have to like every single thing about a car to buy it, I’m more than happy to buy a car I hate completely, just for the experience.

I think you have to pay BMW a subscription to get Bluetooth streaming on this model. You’ll have to use the AUX port but mine didn’t work with my iPhone adapter.
At the time of recording I thought it was the previous version diesel that had all the issues the M47. But the answer is yes and no, it’s the later N47 engine in this car but the timing chain problems according to Wikipedia at least were mostly on pre-2009 models. They stopped using the N47 in late 2014.
@@IAMASPANNER hey there, yes, your engine is still a N47, and the problem even if it's not as often, it's still there. I have a F20 - 116D - late 2013 (1.6 lit - N47) with 150 k (km) and the chains are wear out (still a tensioner problem) P.S. and by the way your engine sounds a bit rough and it shouldn't use that much oil actually, seems a problem there. Mine uses around 500ml max between service intervals (no top-up needed)
@@magnetau No longer have the car but I had spoke to many owners and seen on forums that my oil usage was very common. BMW 4 cylinders just aren’t as good as the 6’s but even the 6’s have plenty of issues.
There are no differences rhe only reason they have the euro and the USA is so u know where it was manufactured as they have plants in the USA and Europe and now china
Because when you do it sat still it doesn’t always feel right when driving. On BMWs and Volvos the lever on the side is pump action so doesn’t just drop to the bottom.
Hey, I have got a 1 series 2011 M Sport 118d… and there is a really annoying squeak sort of sound when you steer the car at low speed! Anything you can recommend to sort this problem? Cheers 👍🏻
Inside or outside? Could be a number of things, faulty squib, steering column trim catching, something rubbing on the steering column inside or outside…
I think it’s the lack of sat nav, the aux doesn’t work and you can’t play music over Bluetooth that gets me most about it, I still have it and it’s a great car but if I bought one again it’d need to be top spec.
@@IAMASPANNER yeah I’m looking at a 120d next weekend, and the only thing that gets me is no nav, but it would be outdated anyway and Waze is much better on your phone, and have you tried buying a aux lighting cable on Amazon I’ve heard they work
It’s a little bit out of context but sounds a bit unreasonable upon reflection. At times I buy and sell a car every month and before I got the 1 series I’d just gone back to college (busy as ever) and I had a MK5 Golf GTTDI that was driving me insane mainly because the seatbelt warning kept going off even with the buckle in! The best value car I’ve ever owned and still own is my V70 I paid £1200 for now on 298,000 miles.
