Dear Prof, suppose I have written a paragraph and I want chatgpt to correct the grammatical mistakes or improve the structure of the sentences. Is it ethical or AI detector will detect as AI written or human written text?
It's fine, in my opinion, to use chatgpt to help you correct mistakes or improve sentence structure (same as what a human editor might do for you). I suggest you also ask chatgpt to give you three alternative ways to improve the passage and explain how those changes will help.
