Yeah, earlier this year they suggested there was an "epidemic of crime" especially involving young people in major cities -- as out of 21 teenagers killed in London in 2023, 18 of them were stabbed to death. The statistics for the general population are 4 in 10 homicides. I don't know how they suppose they'd ever tackle it anyway, as knives are common tools that anyone can acquire from even a general store. And in Canada, the government proved the sheer failure of bans, whereby even 2 years after the "handgun freeze" was put into affect, they still make up the majority of weapons used in homicide, at 37% -- or more than 1 in 3. It's just bloviating -- for so long as they don't address the *core* causes of crime they'll never make a dent. Our societies are sick and broken -- they need to be healed first. Offering blatantly empty promises isn't helping.
