SIMPLE-G Book, Chapter 6a: SIMPLE Regional Databases

This presentation provides an introduction to Chapter 6a of the book titled: SIMPLE-G: A Gridded Economic Approach to Analysis of Sustainability of the Earth’s Land and Water Resources, edited by Iman Haqiqi and Thomas Hertel, and published by Springer. Chapter 6a describes the sources and methods for construction of the SIMPLE, regional databases. These provide the global context for the SIMPLE-G model. The gridded databases will be discussed in the subsequent video. The sources for the regional data are the FAOSTAT global data bases for population, GDP, cropland use and crop production.
