Thanks Marcus.... FYI.. I'm pretty easily susceptible to the sporadic video motions.... that is why I could never play video games... I would just get motion sickness....I can't even play with the phone while riding in the passenger seat of a car.. So a lot of it is just me....;) I will try to watch it again before the dinner wine. I am very interested in hearing what you have to say.
Thank you for these. It is exactly what i need to hear as I try to re-invent my style, with a new ski. Much like I had to learn to do after moving long ago from straight race skis to shaped skis on snow. I blew a disc L4/L5 in 2012, and have been trying to learn how to work more with the ski and the line rather than against it, and this stuff helps. Back in the day, trying to copy what I saw in instructional videos, I was all about hips up, and one way to do that was to have a "proud" chest, and then make that outside shoulder the focus of the force and the "hinge" for connection with the boat. Pretty funny how all that is addressed here.
From an orthopedic surgeon - good stuff MB! I like the admonition re not arching back to get stacked. I tried that, it seemed to work, but back symptoms appeared immediately. Same thing - like your advice to be careful about loaded with the spine twisted on off side. Keep up the coaching - you're good at it:)
Macus, this was so relevant for me! Thank you!!! Particularly your last bit on off-side alignment. I am actually going out in a couple of hours to work on my off-side pull :)
I really like these vids. Would love to see a bit more about how to develop improvement in this area, including perhaps improved flexibility for skiing, and improved core/whatever strength to support the better position. I blew a disc L4/L5 a few years ago, and am always looking at ways to improve this area. Maybe in a Flowpoint? Good work.
This is terrific Marcus. The last part about not forcing the offside spine twist, definitely the best tii
...best tip for longevity I've ever heard. Please keep the series going.
