Cards can be burned on Altars (for a 10 - to 25% gain in power) which can replace wagons and need to be crafted using land resources exclusively sold by the team until the LP's for those come out. They can hold a burning event to burn your wagons in a giant bonfire in your region. Give a small multiplier for chances for the final airdrop which is a max level, 0 mana, neutral fiend with blind. A gold foil would have divine shield. They can start over with altars with airdrops of Dejota's land giants cards. You would pick 1 of 6 gods of the outer realms to be devoted to and they should have a neutral option for those not interested in land giants. The new conflicts would be between the Gods and you would pick one now and maybe 7 to 12 months later pick from another set of 6. The land giants would be a new niche card. I described it to Dejota, it would basically be a giant meat shield that would only attack other cards that are giants of a different element until level 10. A lot more details than that but it would be a hard choice to decide if you wanted it on land or in battles.
I have been concentrating more and more on my Land Holdings. When I do Battles I understand that people can Battle using BOTs in WILD. When I also Battle in Modern as I understand it BOT's are not supposed to be used in Modern. My Battles in Modern have been what I believe are some what tainted. Since I have never used Bot's in any of my Battles from the very Start of SteemMonsters I think it's kind of obvious when I battle in Modern and my Opponent has 105 Wins in a Row, that they may not be a Live Person Battling me. If players are currently getting away with BOTTING in Modern that will not bode well for the experience of that New Player Experience coming in to the game for the First Time. I feel that people just Laugh at the Team since they think they can continue to Battle in Modern and use BOT's with no Fear of getting Banned from Modern. Maybe I am overreacting but I understand how people want to get more for living on the Edge.............. I enjoy what Mancer is sharing with Us Here and I just hope we get LAND 2.0 ASAP. The Facts are that many things need to be addressed and maybe they will as we move Forward.
idk, i stepped away for a bit due to real life and i came back recently. the game is way more fun. no bots and i can use high level cards in all the leagues. i think this is important. you want more people to be building decks. NPE is one of those things that matters a lot over the long term. i still wish there was a weekly draft tournament to sell packs and sustain hype. you could have a draft round pick and without combining the cards, level them up but cheaper. like you would only need 1 legendary for max level. every summoner would auto-max-level. maybe 5 commons to max level. but just for the draft. then at the end of the draft you don't keep the levels but you keep the cards. give top winner across all spl a prize, maybe a portion of the draft earnings or equivalent value in assets.
The Illuvium numbers on their marketing was really eye-opening. Makes me think about our approach to marketing overall. Solid analysis and great suggestions on the video!
I like the idea of a building to burn cards too. I had a idea for a crypt on land that would take say 100k card power burn to give you 5% bonus on land
hardcore mode could be pay to play a single battle but you can win a card of the opponent. You can choose a card beforhand which you are willing to loose depending on the card cp value there is an entry fee to pay in dec or sps for the opponent that chooses to put at stake a similar value card as exchange. (a percentage of the fee could go to splinterlands team as well or maybe the winner can choose to burn the won card or unlock it by paying dec to the team)
I am not happy with NPE but to me what they have done is set up set rentals, new look on the website, made it work better on a cell phone, Then also added the chest to earn while moving up the leagues and then they also reworked the glint rewards and made them better for the guys in bronze. This stuff is all good but we need that other intro to the game but also just yesterday we got matt saying new game modes are in his head
100% agree on the green candles part. I don’t care about npe, I don’t care about land, I don’t care about glimmer effects on cards. I don’t care about ANYTHING the team put out in the past 9 months. It’s like you said, “time and resources have been wasted “ and the main driver for attracting new players is green candles. This is how I got here (“usd 3 per win? WOW!!! I need to get in!”) and I am sure many others too. Focus on Green candles- make Splinterlands great again!
Great video like always. I think your right on some things but what I think is that people want that WOUW affect. Why do people go to the casino? And spend money there. Because they are drawn to the big wins and jackpots. But also some go for fun. I remember when I joined Splinterlands was first that I saw that you could win $12.- a day by playing. But i stayed because i liked playing it and want to up my deck to complete in higher leagues. And win more. So I think they should get the green candles to. But in some way with winning cards. Maybe bring back the 5 chest day rewards chests. But what I Still think was a bad call is to make one leaderboard and one main league. It cost older players to stop playing and it is not really fun for new players to always be up against maxed out decks. Make 3 league. Bronze. Silver/gold. Diamond/champion. And if you are in the top 30. You automatically go one league up. If you are not in the top 30 you can choose to go down a league.
This is why I wanted the DAO to only have SPS to create a huge spike in SPS price making a green candle that will attract new players and bring back old players. This is the way. Nobody listened to me regarding this so I sold all my SPS because I already knew the outcome. You don't need a crystal ball but just common sense in my opinion. I can always buy back at the bottom like right now.
100% on board for any and all sinks for cards and tokens. make them desirable but expensive enough on a curve (like sps staking) that they are effectively unlimited for even a mega-whale. CL cards are the first target. Infinite card staking and/or burning for non tradeable assets in game now pls
