Lice - So Strange Here
To me the “off beat” production is the absolute best. EL-P perfected that in the 90s. It’s so different and out of the norm to the basic 808 on rhythm beats. This whole project with Blockhead is amazing.
I love when the chorus does that beat switch and then he goes "it's funny I'm real easy" and that mischievous reed instrument comes creeping back in. Almost as if he's winking about being "easy". Would love to know if Aes wrote to this as a finished piece or if he and Blockhead developed it together. Speaking of Blockhead his instrumental album "Luminous Rubble" was one of my favorite albums of last year. Definitely worth checking out. Great reaction as usual!
I appreciate the honest observation! I second sleeper car. That one might take more than one listen though
Absolutely awesome breakdown and reaction man! I'm impressed. How old are You? I appreciate Your reactions. 🩸🗝😎
I'm more of a self-produced Aesop enjoyer vibe-wise, but I have to say, Blockhead has not disappointed me once. This song in particular tickles me quite nice, didn't even notice the out-of whack whachamacallit, I just approached this track like a jazz type vibe.
If you really wanna hear cats fighting blackboards, there's a self produced Aes track, _Sleeper Car,_ off SWFG. It took more than 5 listens till I finally enjoyed it, now it's up there.
Fridaysop Rock
This song has one of my favorite Aes bars.
Odd man out, bad hand fanned out / Tryna man up ... "man down"
That sounds familiar. What's that from?
