    This one just HITS HOME!
Specially THE part about Not drinking,
I know so many people who literally eat meat, cause there is no other option at the table now here.
I think here in Japan, there is a larger Indian - Tech diaspora, maybe because its Asia?
But legit can't fit into the drinking culture at all T_T
But, I am genuinely the most grateful person for having more friends now that I am working than in college itself. Its nice because of that.
Oh Gosh! Like specially the affordability thing -- I miss having a cook and a maid T_T
But I am so much healthier here, and its super safe thankfully.
I even lost my wallet in Japan and it was given to the police who mailed me back.
So its really really cute, in terms of being young and free and experiencing Japan, I just miss being able to meet my Family on Holidays or having ample money T_T

I am in a similar situation like Stiver. I am a 2020 batch passout from a tier 3 college currently working in the Netherlands in a telecom company as a software engineer. I can totally relate to him. When I wake up in the morning, it's already 10-10:30 in india and people are gone to their workplace. Even my mother is a teacher so sometimes I won't be able to talk to her. By the time I reach home, it's 10 PM in india and people are asleep. And being a non drinker and vegetarian, I can understand your pain which you have gone through.
In Europe, you will get quality of life (good quality food, fresh air, peaceful environment) which you can't get in india. In india, you get luxury, in the sense that you can hire a cook, a cleaner, plumber, electrician etc. which you don't get here. You have to clean your commode, toilet, rooms etc, and cook food on your own.

Being in Norway, i realize you are best at your own country. I have a family, kid faces a suprimist attitude, teaching quality is bad, hunger for learning is less, all show off. I am also returning within a year.

I am staying out of India for almost a year now and I agree with your pain points that you said about foreign living. For me, there is one more additional pain point and that is communication gap. Most of the foreign countries are not english speaking and you have to always rely on translators to communicate which can be a lot of hassle. Moreover, I completely agree on the vegetarian part as I am also a pure veg and non-drinker so it is hard to mix with everyone. Luckily, I have my partner here with me so that makes all of it a bit less annoying but it is still a tough life away from family.

Great to hear that you don't drink alcohol and you are a vegetarian. I have also felt that it is difficult to make friends if you don't drink, smoke, or eat non-veg food.
