Fun fact about Mad Catz, in 2017 they went out of business but came back after line workers in their factory created a holding company to buy Mad Catz at liquidation prices, and brought the company back as a worker-owned operation that focuses on a small selection of pretty decent quality PC gaming peripherals.

On that fight stick. Usually on those strain relief cables, I've found that the strain relief is a separate part from cable, and the cable is just held in place by a zig-zag path molded into the plastic of the controller.
If you open the controller up, you might find that you can pull the cable out of that zig-zag part and pull a little more of it into the controller. That would keep the frayed part from being exposed. Then just tuck the cable back into the zig-zag.

19:37 I remember being surprised to see Activision announcing DJ Hero for the PS2 alongside a controller and other spin-off games, because back then everyone thought that Sony and other third party studios would drop support on the PS2 in 2009. I still recall reading about the tie-in to the then-latest Harry Potter movie being the very last PS2 game to ever release.
Little did we expect that Sony would continue to give support to the console for four more years, to the point of still getting new releases by the time the PS4 launched.

So what I've read about the Saturn Twin Stick (I have one boxed up but haven't had an opportunity to mess around with it yet); the left stick works like a d pad, each of the right sticks 4 directions input a different face button (left = c for example), and then the two triggers and top buttons are inputs for the last 4 buttons (the other 2 face buttons and triggers). So theoretically it should work with every game.

Just found out about seaman 2 for PS2, that had a special controller with a Mic to talk, only in japanese, as the game never was released outside Japan, but looks like a Nice saturn controller, Wonder If It would work in other games than seaman.
I think It would be a great addition to weird controller collection and would be a good punching weight where uncle Derek could use some of the japanese he learned and his sensei proud.

Similar to the DJ Hero controller, I have a Beatmania IIDX controller for the PS2. I think it's compatible with the Japanese Beatmania games, but only one of them came out in North America. I enjoyed it well enough.
Also have to give the Maraca controllers for Samba de Amigo a shout-out. The Dreamcast bundle I got on eBay years ago had two sets of aftermarket maraca controllers, so it's technically possible to play two player if you have enough room. In reality, the ultrasonic rangefinders they use tend to get really confused when you try that, like playing the Wii in a room with bright window.
My number-one most desired controller will always be the Odyssey gun controller. No way I'll ever be able to afford one, though.

I have the one handed ASCII controller and I've beat Crash Bandicoot 1 with it! It wasn't that hard honestly, I've managed to do it without game overs. Now Crash 2 and 3 with slide jumping are definitely harder. Also used it recently for my yearly Parasite Eve run every Christmas.

One of my favorite uses for the Wii Balance Board was for a Japanese horror game called Night of Sacrifice (Ikenie no Yoru) which has Wii Balance Board compatibility so you had to physically walk in place to move and stamp your feet to run from monsters. Not a super functional game for the most part but playing it on a Balance Board makes it totally worth it.

The recently released Bulk Slash fan translation adds support for the Virtual-On Twin Stick controller. AFAIK it internally works like any other controller so you can get weird with it and see how well it works with other Saturn games too!

Derek, your channel is now one of my two favs for gaming, with the other being Scott the Woz. Both are a bit of a throwback to bygone TH-cam days.
My favorite used to be the channel that you once emulated when you initially started the channel, but his channel now just seems to be mailed in at this point unfortunately. Hell of a run though...

For your fishing rod, put some glue on a cardboard, take a tooth pick, jam it on the glue, then apply the glue on the broken plastic, that way, it will be not overly too much.

What's really bananas about the plastic instrument craze is how to this day, NOBODY is making 3rd party replacements. You're telling me I can get a 110% fake Sony PS3 controller for $7 but nobody kept the molds for the plastic guitars and thought to shove a Dual Shock guts into it?

Came in here hoping you'd have a Steel Battalion set up, was super disappointed you didn't show it off. Had a classmate in college bring his set up to a party the game design majors were collaborating on, and between ET on the Atari, the LITERAL MAX AMOUNT OF 16 FIGHTERS on TWO PROJECTORS in Smash (on the projectors of a lecture room, no less), me hoarding the Steel Battalion set up (and the dude deadass brought his perfectly sized CRT and a desk), it was PERFECT.

Donkey Konga was my thing back in 2006. Played it for getting Highscores. I know the time i needed another Bongo, because my old ones worn out(still working, but playing close to every day, deforms the rubber on top)
The Game was known to be "made more, then ppl willing to buy" so they reduced in price. The funny thing about it was, that the Bongos alone costs 30€ here in germany, and at the same time the Bundle with the Game was reduced to 20€. So i ended up with another Copy of the Game (still Sealed).
Sadly: Donkey Konga 3 stayed japan only, but heck, this was the reason why i bought a japan GameCube, just to play this Game. :D
Oh! and don't forget: there was also the Game Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, which plays perfectly with the Bongos. And it's a plattformer, not a Rhythm Game.
