The primer bulbs on Tecumseh mower engine carbs are a little more difficult. The primers on the newer Tecumseh winter engines are pretty simple, before those the had the type that screwed in, in the center and than the line hooked up behind. For those you have to get behind the shroud.

Had a weird thing happen today with my Yardman 33" 13hp tecumseh Engine. Liquid gas started spraying out the primer bulb hole, I mean not very far, maybe 2 inches or so. Would that be an indication of the carburetor float that is bad? Because engine seemed to be running terrible with the leak. Carb float or primer bulb broken?
I was wondering if you might help. ON a John deere 828D snowblower with electric start. I changed oil, removed fuel tank and cleaned and drained, filled with fresh gas, installed new filter and new spark plug. The primer bulb does not seem to be pushing fuel and the fuel filter will not fill. When I press the starter it sounds strong but still no ignition. Do you think its the primer bulb? How can I start the machine by passing that step to see if it starts maybe its something else?
primer rubber is loose and can turn around its base and my blower dies when starting blowing snow but can always prime the carb to start, is it the issue causing shut off ??

Brand new carb, but when pushing the primer I can hear air and no "slurping" sound like I used to. Snowblower impossible to start unless I drip some fuel directly inside the spark plug hole. Then it starts immediately and runs perfect! Once its out of fuel, if I restart it soon enough it works. But next day, I once again have to drip fuel into the spark plug hole. What could be the issue?
@@lilrida649 I solved this problem by replacing the carb bowl & seal. The old tecumseh bowl had a drain push valve that was leaking air and allow the bowl to accumulate moisture and freeze the Jets.
I bought my Cub Cadet Snowblower 2X last fall, it started and ran fine, so now, this spring the primer would not work, the engine will not start. Guess I have to remove the control cover and see what is wrong...

Check the primer hose also. My blower wouldn't prime. I found the hose was cracked near the carb end.

Snow blower cranks but no start , good spark, primer bulb I can hear air when pressed but no gas. Would it be the main carb jet plugged.

When pressing I don't see the overflow is that a indication that the line is clog ?
Mine is leaking gas from the primer hole
Is the air support to go in and keep the gas from coming out like a check valve

Check the bowl gasket especially if you have had it off.
How does the primer bulb actually work? Is it pulling air to get fuel from the main line to the carb? Always wondered.

Primer line disconnected from inside when I went to pull it off the primer bulb. Not sure how and what to reconnect it to.

you might have to remove the cover or access from carb and then run back through hole at front
