New Delhi is sleeping on batteries - chips are far behind. They have acted on solar panels to some extent and solar cells to lesser extent. Reality is Indian Business needs to be hand held - lacks leadership needed to foray in these high capital, high k owledge, high onsolescence areas.

India produces a lot of geopolitics experts and strategic observers. They give so many opinions and advice on TH-cam such as these. " India should do this, do that, leapfrog in this area etc". But dont they know whatever they say, government and business leaders already know? They are the ones with power and resources. The issue in India is not a lack of opinions and advice, but a lack of decisive and sustained commitment. China studies a situation, decides on key objectives, has a detailed plan, commits resources and talent, and ensures accountability. In short, they decide and execute. The repeating patterns of delays in Indian key projects (e.g. Tejas, INS Vikrant, etc) tell of underlying poor decision-making and organisational issues.

BIG correction, I think the speaker is delusional and got the wrong facts. The US does not even have the capabilities, knowledge and infrastructures to process these rare minerals, and China holds all the refining capabilities and technolgy to do it. She says US is the second producer, look at the percentage (the difference is a very extremely HUGE gap and she says with so much confidence like it is only a few percentage differences). Where does she learn that China relies on the US technology to process these minerals? What a joke indeed. Totally delusional indeed. 😂😂😂😂

Haha .. ping pong experts ... you have got your remarks misplaced

but US is ranked 2, that too is a fact and China remains dependent on US tech to develop semiconductors is also a fact.
She talked rightly about how fragile these dependencies are.

@Shortforfuture She's not technically wrong on the 2nd place position but the way she phrase it as if the US is very near to China which is clearly not the case. It is clearly a very distant 2nd place. Even the 2nd place is for general overall rare earth, not specific to certain types. Some types are more important than others. If i heard correctly, she also mentioned that the refining technology belongs to the US which is also incorrect.

Rare earths supply in the US currently comes only from the Mountain Pass mine in California, which is owned by MP Materials (NYSE:MP). Mountain Pass is producing high-purity neodymium and praseodymium (NdPr) oxide, a key material for high-strength neodymium iron boron (NdFeB) magnets.
