Claus covers so much ground I have a hard time deciding what to comment on. Sometimes, early in the video, I have a great idea for a comment, but following Claus down the rabbit hole I forget it.
If we've talking about holidays, back in the 90s I did win 10 days whale watching off the coast of California, with just a £1 raffle ticket. I took my wheelchair bound friend and apparently the company would give you the best boat on day one then the ordinary boats the other days and cos my friend was in a wheelchair we got the best boat the whole 10 days. Was a wonderful experience.
So, if I get a wwheelchair friend, WG will give me the best tank every battle? ;-) I am happy for you and your friend. Sometimes things are done as they should be.
Great analysis as ever, summed up the current state of all university students. All the available knowledge but no wish to bother look it up let alone learning it once they do.
The "replace instead or repair" attitude started back with the advent of computer chips being put into things like televisions. An example, growing up my nextdoor neighbor owned a television and appliance repair shop. Between my parents and other neighbors he ran a successful business for many years. Fast forward to the 80's when manufacturers began using computer chips instead of vacuum tubes his business began to slowly dwindle eventually resulting in him closing his business and him retiring. Ironically I had an uncle that worked for Texas Instruments on the project that developed the first microchip that was put into Canon cameras
Some parents don't give in to the electronic 'nanny' and good for them. Those that take the easy route and ignore the kids will always exist, sadly. Here in the western US (NM) there is amazing scenery. The sad part is how many people live in AZ, NM, CO, UT or even Las Vegas and never see the Grand Canyon. Bryce, Zion, Canyonlands, Natural Bridges, Death Valley, Yosemite, Yellowstone are all worth at least one trip.
Man, usually this is my first vid of the day. Unfortunately, I watched Jungles vid first this morning. So sad. Me and the wife are going on an Alaskan cruise in June. Will be our first trip up there. Will get to spend a few days in Vancouver on either side of the cruise too. Should be fun. If you like the space stuff, come to Huntsville, Alabama, we have a very cool museum here just outside of Marshall Space Flight Center (The Davidson Center for Space Exploration).

Priceless life tips from Claus today!. It's the same in Britain. People say things are much better now than years ago but the only improvements I've noticed since the 70's are that the streets aren't covered in dog sh1t any more since that law was introduced to make owners to pick up the poop (although that's starting to slide again) and secondly your clothes don't stink of cigarettes when you leave the pub since the smoking in public places ban. 🙂
So true Claus!! So many people are so concerned about getting the NEWEST, most up to date gadgets that are so tech laden, most things can't be fixed, you just have to buy a new one (I pity the landfills)! Why does a transportation vehicle need a "module" for everything? Why do I even need automatic windows? Claus, you remember the old style window cranks? They worked every time (just roll the window down manually, it took 2 seconds). Now? Everything is automated (with no manual backup system). If the automatic seat motors break, the seat can't move until the module gets fixed. That darn O2 sensor is broken again, the car won't start (how many times have I paid $600 to replace another O2 sensor)? More technologically complicated doesn't always mean better, now there are more "things" that can go wrong (motors for side mirrors that fold in when you put the car in park). WTF? Do you really park so CLOSE to the next car that you need your side mirrors to Fold-in? How would you even open the door to get out of the car? Give me a small, small break! Just one more thing that could end up breaking that you have to pay to fix! I still have my first analog radio/ alarm clock my parents got me when I was a kid from 1980, and it still works perfectly! It was made to last, it still tells the time, the alarm still works great (even the speaker still sounds good when the radio is playing), and it's outlasted anything I've purchased since the late 90s! Don't get me wrong, technology is awesome and these new tools do make our lives a lot easier (humans don't build things with our bare hands, we use tools to build things). But is this going SLIGHTY TOO FAR with "motorized, fold in when put in park" side mirrors for a car, do we really need folding side mirrors?? I agree with what you said Claus, that people need to practice the ability to mentally back up and see the whole forest instead of staring microscopically at one branch on a tree! Everyone, I recommend we all practice "looking at the big picture" and ask those questions people seem to not ask anymore! --Why not wait until your phone dies first, THEN get a new phone? --Do we prefer quality and durability OVER extra options? Do our alarm clocks REALLY need 2 USB ports; didn't all of our phones come with their own chargers? --Do we really need a mechanical toothbrush that talks back to us? Not me! --Maybe those extra things can do something cool, but do WE really need it? A motorized mattress looks cool, but when that motor breaks, you'll be using pillows to prop your head up, just like I've been doing with my pillows on my non-motorized mattresses for years! --How about we do some "Cost vs Benefit" analysis? We have purchasing power, why not spend the right amount of money for the product that will last the longest? I wonder what the real tankers would've said if the tanks they drove in battle lacked durability and instead had modules that controlled everything? I'm just guessing, but I'm sure the tankers would prefer a tank that can be repaired quickly "in the field" so they can stay in the fight; compared to, "Our turret motor computer module is broken! Oh well, we'll just have to ship it back to the US so they can fix it, everyone out of the tank, we will continue on foot instead!" I'm sure the tankers would prefer to have a manual aiming turret option, just in case they needed to keep fighting if their turret motor computer module gets damaged. I hope I never buy a car with motorized "fold-in when put in park" side mirrors. I just don't park THAT CLOSE to other cars. Again, thanks for the video Claus, you keep doing what you do! o7
I cleaned the combustion chambers of the heads of all my 2 stroke bikes. Scraped the carbon off of the tops of the pistons. Did all of the work on my bikes. Adjusted the valves with my feeler gauge. Then I bought a Yamaha Maxim X. The heads had to come off with special tools are the heads could break. I finally wrecked it. Good. It had gotten too compicated for me like the Panther tank was. I now drive a Smart Car that I bring in to the Mercedes dealership on the other side of Dallas. I don't have anything to do with Microsoft's AI. It is just another way to lose your freedoom, or worst. You are right on. When something crashes, it is not a landing. they should have said we meant for to trip and crash.
Like Mercedes-Benz, "Oh, your seat won't automatically adjust anymore. Sure, you need to buy a new seat!!!" But isn't it a cable or a motor? Why a new seat? "Because it's all come together."

Hey Claus - I would posit the problem isn't so much one of technology as it is one of consumerism. Companies can't make a profit if they sell you a widget that lasts for 15 or 20 years - the unit cost would be too high - so they arrange through clever manipulation of our psychology to convince you to buy the next new shiny thing each year, just like WG or Apple with the new iPhone each year, or the next new OBJECT. BTW, landing on the moon IS tricky, especially for a fully autonomous vehicle. Remember Neil Armstrong only had about 30 seconds of fuel left when he landed EAGLE on the Moon because he took MANUAL control to avoid large boulders. And yes, the horizontal vector is SUPPOSED to be zero before touchdown. But...stuff happens.
I drove from Ohio to Anchorage Ak back in 96, It was great. went by way of upper states then through BC to Yukon and then on to Anchorage, it was one of the greatest trips I did. I think you will enjoy it. it does get lonely from Yukon to AK boarder and then on to ANC nothing in that whole area. Had an old 1969 F100, had three 55-gal gas drums in the back and only bought fuel one time in BC they would not let me hand crank the gas out of the drums in town, some tax thing.
Well on the other hand we do have Nuclear powered robots driving around on Mars and have had for a decade. Pretty cool. We have also had a space station with people in it, continuously, for 20 years. Also pretty cool.
the 57 players must be having a seizer when he is playing with the random movements of the tank and looking around the tank, like what the hell with players looking in out around and random movements
You're right about the Tesla's. But the same was true with early cars. Who you gonna take it to, to fix? The farrier? The coach maker, Vet, horse trainer, saddle maker? Same basic problem when there is a big tech jump. All ya can do, is wait for things to normalize.
true but its not just teslas. its all new cars. electronics cant be fixed. it has to be replaced. hoe do you replace a "chip"? you replace a $7,000 electronic board...

Funny to see for a Unicum to have that load of crap equipped on a BC-25-T xD
I drove from Ohio to Anchorage Ak back in 96, It was great. went by way of upper states then through BC to Yukon and then on to Anchorage, it was one of the greatest trips I did. I think you will enjoy it. it does get lonely from Yukon to AK boarder and then on to ANC nothing in that whole area. Had an old 1969 F100, had three 55-gal gas drums in the back and only bought fuel one time in BC they would not let me hand crank the gas out of the drums in town, some tax thing.
we have gas in canada... lol

Hey Claus - don't Juneau the capital of Alaska?
As soon as I hear the a-hole music start up, I push the volume to 11.
Well on the other hand we do have Nuclear powered robots driving around on Mars and have had for a decade. Pretty cool.
We have also had a space station with people in it, continuously, for 20 years. Also pretty cool.
Should we tell Claus that the US is gong back to the moon in late 2024 with the Artemis mission?
I am fairly certain that had they bought it a bear skin hoodie then things would have been fine.
why is the video sped up..?
Hi Claus, you must always remember it’s always LOW BID that gets the job
Juneau is the capital of Alaska.
welcome back
To recap, they launched a garbage can at the Moon, and it made it there successfully .... HUZZAH !!!
watch the gravel on the dempster highway, it can make texas gravel look like pebbles
the 57 players must be having a seizer when he is playing with the random movements of the tank and looking around the tank, like what the hell with players looking in out around and random movements
I’m in Anchorage! It’s not the capital 😂. Juneau is the capital.
about the moon landing: did you know There is some kind of statement of Kubrick he filmed it..on the earth?
Yep, it's been downhill since 1969, but don't worry the bots will take over.
@@ClausKellerman Engineered obsolescence is a very dirty business practice. All you can do is buy the brands that do it the least (Toyota and Honda) and hope the other money grabbing d-bags improve (lol like that's gonna happen).
@@ClausKellerman Have you seen SpaceX's computer image of their moon lander? It's freakin' pencil shaped...
... the landing gear for mOOn landings should be large, squishy bean bag chairs from 1969 ... the year of Woodstock, hippies, Yippies, an' 'Murica's 1st manned mOOn landing ... YyyUP ... we was smart back in them dayz ...
Clause. If we can’t land an unmanned probe on the moon today what makes you think we actually landed 6 times in the sixxties and seventies.
The world is being run by those with a marketing degree, when I was a lad those people were called con men, is it really any wonder we can't do what was done 60 years ago.
The Apollo landers had no jetblast marks on the moon surface after landing, i wonder how they did that, its impossible!
Not NASA but CASA .... Claus Authoritative Space Administration :P
we got soo smart that we become to lazy. That looks to me is the problem today
Throwing stone with adequate mechanism to the moon, it would land the same-succesfully.
But it worked in Kerbal Space Program. So it shouldn't of failed.
I never wanted to become an expert. An expert is only a drip under pressure. 😉
As for the US space program, they had much better Germans than the Russians did. Operation Paperclip.
