Veigo's love was both beautiful and obsessive. He was so happy to be with her and he loved her with all of his mind, body, and soul. But he also couldn't accept that she wasn't in his life. He is a man who wanted all in his life, but above all, he wanted his love to be with him forever. He is... the Ruined King.

yeah but the newest story about him showed how restrictive he is with isolde
like you said, he wanted perfection, in that story, she was complained to not have certain attitude bcs shes her queen
still, hes loyal to her and he loves her with all his heart

I think this is very interestind direction. He was truly in love with Isolde, but it was basically obsession. Makes him more sympathetic without making him faultless

@@3takoyakis somewhere i read this was only a part of his story, something he regrets and wants to forget, thats why when viego became the ruined king he locked those memories as he wanted to think his relation was perfect, but it was not, when isolde was stabbed viego was driven into madness and there is where some dialogues makes sense as he says "I know what is best for us" refering as he was taking her to the blessed islands or "you are a queen, act like one" telling her to endure the pain

A Hero will Sacrefice you for the world but the Villain will sacrefice the world for you. Im not saying what Viego did was right but I can say that I understand. Id probably do the same if i was in his shoes.

I really hate the part where Ahri tries to show Viego visions of him being abusive because then it's not a story about how a good man with an obsession can turn into a monster with an obsession but it's "he was always bad bruh obviously she never loved him, he was just dumd" because then there's no way of let it open to a "what if he wasn't that obsessive" or a "what if he never lost her", "what if he never fell in love" because in all cases you'd just say "meh, he was evil either way, dumb villain without motivation."

i didnt play the whole event, i just watched some cutscenes and... man, i felt so confused when i saw those "abusive" memories. perhaps they could've just been something they used to toy with viego at the moment, if they were real... but yes, indeed, he kind of turned into a villain with no real purpose.
then again, those moments couldve just been some select ones and they couldve been happy other than that
      mannn, im overthinking this hahah

@@wang1556 In the book there is no information about him being abusive. Isolde diary says that their relationship was fine but in time Viego started treat her like a divine being. That's all. So it means ruined king abusive line was either retconned or Thresh/Mist lies.

Did Thresh plotted the assassination of Isolde ? Probably yes, otherwise it sounded too coincidental that he would meet already mad Veigo again.😂 Also when Isolde died in the first time, The doll box was tossed into the sea and a piece of her soul turned into Gwen.
Since that moment, Veigo and Isolde were still married,Does that make Veigo the step-father of Gwen ?😂🤣
    imagine this scene:
Veigo (chained and revived):Gwen, you have grown stronger ,from now on ,you.... you have to keep going ,Daddy ,will always,....
    be proud.,,,, of .....you .....
Gwen: Veigo .... no ,this cant be true.... Veigo ....... what have i done? what i am fighting for ????!11 aaaaaaaaaaaaa...
Veigo became plastic and stop talking ....
    The end .

Nope, the assassins where (supposedly) from a state near Camavore called Port Takhan and Thresh had for a long time wanted to take revenge on his superiors,he had no idea what the waters of life would do to Isolde. He was looking for them as a way to expose "corruption" in the island and incite a rebellion or smth like that.

I want to say that forcing Necrit into the game is just lame. I don't have anything against him, but he has literal no skills in terms of voice acting. His character is forced, out of context and feels uselessly empty.
That being said, this version of the story doesn't seem to follow the original canon.
Viego wasn't loved by his people and, he was completely unfit to rule a kingdom.
He was a spoiled prince, growing up selfish and narcissistic.
He was forced to inherit the crown because his elder brother, the real heir to the throne of Camavor, died for unknown reasons.
After meeting Isolde, he abandoned more and more his duties as a king.
The assassin sent to kill him was a result of Camavor's fumed allies due to Viego's uninterest towards governance and enemy nations' picked opportunity to strike.
This video and Necrit's narration is just too vividly black and white for how grey the whole facts actually happened.
Riot Games really need to work on firm points when weaving League of Legends' narration.

Honestly, the best part of viego's story in this game is how it shows the ugly side of his love for Isolde.
Outside that, take into account that the project of this game is older than even the introduction of Viego in lol, so you can say that this is the original take of his lore.
You can also have a ruler loved by his people but that he wasn't well liked by his court, happened all the time in real history actually.
Maybe he was good at throwing parties and the common people didin't care if he wasn't a good statesman, they probably couldn't understand how that looks.
Also, I want to point out that he being a sorcerer it's actually mentioned in the back story of Kalista, the rework of Hecarim and tresh.

@@IgorJapir real lore is a strong word with rito man, do you have any idea how many times it got redkoned?
Also, there is no real implications that she didin't love him back, but you can say when she was resurrected only her bad feelings for Viego remained.
