What a great, informative tutorial! You came up on my feed and I had time to watch. I make large throw quilts, meant for snuggling and not show quilts. I only do straight line quilting. You have given me additional, more modern ideas for my next quilts. Thank you for a concise, straightforward, pleasing video. I will be looking at more of your content. Well done.
Nice video. I've only ever quilted on my domestic machine. One of my favorites is what you call "radiating" and "shattered" but I call it "pick up sticks" haha.
Love all these! Thank you! I just finished a queen sized quilt for my daughter. It’s a gingham pattern and I did the whole thing straight line quilting on my machine. The tip to have many bobbins full and at the ready is a good one. I went through 6. The quilting isn’t perfect but once I washed and dried it, it looks glorious! The back is just cute squares.
Connie this was on my feed😳. I’m so happy I checked it out!!! I’m newer to quilting and this was fantastic. Thanxabunch I look forward to more content. ❤️😀
Thank you for the great tips and encouragement to straight line quilt. Working on my 4th quilt project and using the walking foot to do organic line quilting. I’m really glad your video popped up on my feed!❤
You popped up in my feed, and Im so glad you did! Your relaxed and enjoyable attitude towards your projects inspires confidence and motivates me. Thanks!
I have yet to even finish my first quilt top, which I've just started. When I finish the top and get to the putting it together and quilting it part, I'll have a lot more of an idea of how to do it, thanks to your very helpful video. This is one of the most informative, straightforward, no-nonsense quilting videos I've seen. I will definitely check out your other videos and subscribe to your channel and give you a like, because I DO like it.
Ive begun quilting an art quilt on my domestic mashine & I'm so thrilled to find your video. I my try again. Im getting lots of puckering & needing to do more basting.
Sometimes the YT algorithm suggests a winner! So glad I clicked! eta: What is the name for the green and gray quilt in the background? Is there a pattern for it? Thanks so much!
Thanks for your video - I’ve been doing some straight line quilting on my wall hanging quilts. As a newer quilter I’m not yet sure my quilts warrant sending them out to a long armer. So enjoyed your video.
I’m new to quilting but in my 50’s....but why does everything quilt so tightly. Meaning so many lines instead of fewer lines and fluffier quilts. Guess I am old school.
People are just showing off the skills they developed with their new $12,000 to $22,000 quilting machines in the past 2 decades. Actually, the more closer the quilting lines, the less body heat gets held under the quilt. Also, the thinner batting is more available, and washes consistently, never bunching. The thicker polyester batting is harder to sew straight lines over. The tinier the pieces, the longer each block takes, but bragging rights are worth it in some quilt clubs! Just make the quilts you want to use, or give and do the sewing that gives you joy! (Says the lady who has over 400 pairs of quilted potholders!😊)
Thank you for sharing how to quilt using your domestic machine❤❤❤❤
Great options! As a golden Mom, I love that yours walked through a couple of times! 💞💞💞💞

I line quilt all of my quilts. Don’t want to spend the money or take the time to get to a long armer. Besides I love doing it myself. ❤️
great tips and encouragement.
Love the video. What stitch length do you recommend?
Thank you, Connie! I love the quilt behind you; do you carry the pattern for it?
I agree...would love the pattern!
Ya it’s purdyyy🤪❤️😀
Well done ! Thank you.
Thanks for this video!
Great ideas. Thanjs.
❤ your ideas
Tip for the gloves: I work with the cheap painters gloves. They are € 0,69 and do the job perfectly.
👍❤️🙂
Thank you..

@@marygemdo you sell any of those 400 potholders??!?😊
@@TheMamaAmmah i've sold them occasionally at Xmas. Mostly gift them, for people who help me from time to time. 😄
@@marygemwell, that doesn’t help ( just teasing) because I need some for a new abode.
Have a nice day
@@TheMamaAmmah just choose a quilt block and make two, then pad, back and oversew. All good practice!
What size stitch do you like for straight line stitching?
❤
Can you dry your quilt with wool batting?
Yes. If I use wool batting though be sure to wash on cool and dry on low or air dry.
How do you straight line quilt without getting puckers? TIA
If you use a walking foot that will feed the fabric evenly on the top and bottom so you don't get puckers.
What the name of the quilt pattern behind you?
