February 2022 Stage IV Non Small Cell Lung Cancer (spreading to Brain, and other parts of lung and lymph nodes)
Gene Mutation EGFR with Exon 20 Insertion
TREATMENTS: Received or currently Receiving
2021: 8 Rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin and Paclitaxel) with 30 concurrent radiation treatments to chest and lung
Failed Immunotherapy directly after Chemo and Radiation (Durvalumab, 1 round)
2022: Chemotherapy
10 rounds of Chemotherapy (Carboplatin, Alimta, and Avastin)
6 with Carboplatin, 4 without
Targeted Brain Radiation (Completed)
CURRENT TREATMENT:

The purpose of my channel is to document my cancer journey to look back on, and/or help anyone else going through anything similar. It is also to potentially help loved ones supporting those who are in this fight as well. This is also an easy way to update a lot of people at once. My main goal is to have footage of this journey for my husband and children to look back on. I originally created this channel as a sort of video diary for my
family.

Hi Jenny! I was like you when I got diagnosed stage 4 lung cancer. My two kids was small and I was afraid I will not make it to see them growing up. It has been five years, my son is in high school and my daughter is in middle school. It has been a roller coaster. I had three radiations to my brain and couple surgeries in the past five years. I can’t believe I still hear. I wish both of us have many more years.

HI Jenny, I am so sad to hear about your pain issues. I am a 77 year old retired nurse, worked many years on oncology and Hospice nursing. Our patients comfort level was our utmost importance. When a person has pain control they have a much better quality of life. Titrating is important to know what the maintenance dose needs to be, and then a med for the pain break throughs.
It saddens me that the medical and nursing profession is not at all what it is to be.. The government has gotten involved, and the patients suffer especially the cancer patients. I know this first hand, for I have bone cancer, and the red tape and delays to get meds and treatments, I'm sorry to say it is evil to treat people like this. The government and insurance lords rule the medical industry. It is not a profession anymore. I come from a family of medical people, most agree, some hang on for their jobs. So, Jenny, prayers for you and your beautiful family.

Jenny, hearing you speak about wanting to be there for the milestones in your kid's lives really struck a chord with me. I have metastatic breast cancer and my kids are a fair bit older (16 & 10) but the feelings are the same. I worry for them going through life without their mom. I just want to keep them safe and be here for a long time to give them hugs and all my love. Thank you for sharing the good things and the tough things ☺️

Thank God for my amazing husband ❤️ and my family .I was a teacher when they found my cancer had to stop .thank God my aunt pat took care of me .I'm now 57 years OLD . They have come along way since then you got this I NO IN MY HEART LOVE HELEN LOVE TO MEET YOU 💕 ❤️ 💓
Pain management is the number one thing that you should be thinking about right now.

Yes! Her voice is so gentle and comforting. Like a warm hug while sipping a warm cup of tea and honey. Her personality and voice are just so soothing to me somehow, honestly.
Forgetting to order meds is easy done, you could set yourself a reminder on the calendar on your phone, which is what I do I'm terrible at remembering stuff

JENNY I went through 3 almost 4 years of cancer said I was terminal I said no .I CANT DECRIBE THE pain and depression I was in you remind me of you .

you can set aside a week supply of pain relief in a different bottle so that when you are un aware of finishing the main bottle, then you order while having a whole week supply 🌻

Pain meds make you so tired. I actually take half a pill when needed. Pain management is very important for your cancer related pain. Prayers for Jenny🙏❤️🙏Also happy birthday Ellis. Hope it is a great week.

So glad that your husband is back at work. You'll have to come up with some kind of system of your medications. I know it would be a big step for you but you can do it do it for yourself.

Put a reminder in your calendar on your phone, at least a week before your pain meds are due to run out.
You can set alerts on your calendar and choose the music to a tune that you will pay attention to.
Make life easy for yourselves.

Yes you are here ! God is great. Always Praying 🙏. Cause Kyle is working now. Set your pain medicine on your phone alarm 3 days before they are due, then you will be reminded to call them in . I have to set everything by an alarm lol .

That’s so awful regarding your meds 😢 I was lucky that my chemist (pharmacy) automatically reordered my meds when I was struggling after my cancer surgery as I was a single mum of 3 with no family close by. My children are 32, 27 and 21 now! They grow up so quickly.

Hopefully they fill your pain meds immediately, you need those! Since Kyle is back at work, it probably slipped his mind, I’m sure he has even more on his plate now. Maybe you could make a mark on the calendar on the days u have to call in the prescriptions a few days ahead of time to make sure those get filled.
You are so brave, if I could swop places with you health wise I would, your man and kids deserve to have you in their lives.

Running out of pain meds sucks. Maybe you could just use a calendar, count your pills and mark the days they will last. Mark the day a week before they will run out and order new ones. I‘d really try to take on the responsibility by myself, especially since Kyle is back to work. He‘s got so much on his plate. Have a great birthday week!
Can you refill a week before they are due? Since they are controlled, I’m not sure she can order a week before.

I agree and think Kyle is overloaded with many work at home and outside. This guy is a Superman I hope Jenny can find some strength in her to take over some of his duties at home. He needs emotional support and it’s not his fault or mistake running out of meds.

I had cancer.I only had myself to deal with.No support system and it was dam hard.
Lovely family here and that's what keeps it alive through all else I believe.

Hi Jenny, alway refill them, even if you don’t need them. It will avoid having to chase down doctors. It’s something I learned, along the way, just a suggestion. Unfortunately, due to pill mill pharmacies it has made it difficult for people who need the meds more difficult to obtain them. Take care! I’m so happy to see you’re using your resources.❤️😊🇨🇦

To help you remember to refill your prescription set a reminder on your phone put it on the refrigerator put it on the front door just put it everywhere if my Phramacy did not have auto refill I would always run out of meds! I must say you are a great mom! Even in pain you push yourself to interact with your kids🎉😊 I hope your pain meds get here soon 😊
I love the name “Winnie” for a little girl.
Idea: get memory boxes to sign cards for future events (bdays, days, xmas, etc.) So no matter what you are a current part of those important days. If you are here, we pray so, then you can just give it to them then store in the box for them in the future as memories, etc. It works either way. Maybe post pic of you with them as the lining of the box. Store little impactful trinkets part of memories shared, etc. Letters you write them & so on. It works with you here or not when they get older.
Jenny please put a call in to your pain management team. I’m sure that they have someone on call to help you. Being in pain is not a good idea especially this special week. ❤ 🙏🏻

I've been to Bright Star. My grandsons favorite restaurant where we go for his birthday. Flower is adorable..my daughter has a pug..so sweet. My daughter has been suffering with Chronic Lyme disease for many years.

If you cannot wait for authorization from insurance company you can always pay out of pocket just ask for pharmacy to.use a discount card they have.
