- This week I present to you a fast Autobahn acceleration test with the awesomely luxurious and new 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class (S-Klasse). This entry level S350 BlueTEC model features a 3.0 V6 Diesel with 258 hp, 620 Nm and 7G-Tronic transmission. Although the punch of the engine is great I was expecting a bit more traction at the rear-axle, but it only slips if you really drive it sporty. The ride comfort in "comfort" mode is really great although that this model does not even have the "magic body control" suspension that uses cameras to scan the street before you roll over bumps and holes. Once you select "Sport" the adaptive Airmatic becomes surprisingly hard, very good for corners and fast Autobahn drives. You're welcome. The audio recording right in beginning is from the outside while starting the engine. You almost don't hear that it is a diesel when you are in the inside.

Wie ist das Gefühl während der beschleunigung ? Spührt man 620 Nm deutlich? 2 tonnen leergewicht sind nich ohne
Ja ich weiß, ihr musstet lange warten;-) Die 620Nm sind definitiv spürbar, ich habe zu keinem Zeitpunkt das Verlangen nach mehr Leistung verspürt. Zumal es ja auch nur diesen Diesel in der S-Klasse gibt (zumindest aktuell). Das einzige was zwar gut, aber nicht herausragend ist ist in meinen Augen die 7G-Tronic. Gerade beim runterschalten würden man sich etwas mehr Feingefühl wünschen, dass können die 8-Stufen ZF Getriebe einfach noch besser. Aber natürlich in der Summe ein sehr beeindruckendes Auto.
Automann-TV ja schön und gut, aber lass die Handschuhe weg wenn du eine Limousine mit 258 PS fährst, sonst machst du dich lächerlich. Du bist nicht Vettel, klar.

glaub ich. man muss ja bedenken dass du fast gestanden bist oder besser gesagt gerade los gefahren bist. würde den porsche auf 170-180 einschätzen

its roadmarking, but a special one. it is designed to make noise and wake up a driver from microsleep. there are some testing routes all over germany

Why so much wind/road noise in high speed?...
Wind is the only thing that you are able to hear in a new S-Class as there is literally no noise of tires and engine. The day I drove the S350 was kind of windy and the GoPro3+ is recording the sound very accurately, that's the reason why it might sound louder in the video than it actually was!
Automann-TV aha ok. Thx for the explanation! Have you tested the facelifted A8 yet? the one with 4.2 tdi 385 bhp and 850 nm? would be fun to see its performance :)
I am also very eager to test the new A8, especially the V8 TDI. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get one yet, but I am still trying. That engine must be a monster:-)

No.. care gets higher and suspension get soft...

yes it does it has adaptive dampening
cars that stiffen when in sport mode, genesis g70 v6 and v8 models, v6 twin turbo 3.3L .. Kia stinger GT 2019 and onwards models , audi a7 and other audi sport models , s class 2014 onwards s63 s400 s500 s550 etc

inside is very quiet, you drove over 210km/h and was impressive silenced.
Yes, that really is impressive. The only thing that makes noise are the tires, and those were even winter tires. I would expect it to run even better on 20 inch summer tires.

Yeah for most people this is more than enough. Remember it isn't a sports car, it is made for long highway journeys. The 350d is perfect for that. If you want more you can still buy an s 500 or an AMG

Are they kidding ?? Sounds like an old Massey Ferguson tractor ? What an embarrassment ! Imagine turning up at the country club in that ... You would never get into the members carpark ! They'd send you down to the trades men's car park with all the other rattly old diesel trucks ... God if you can't afford the petrol for a proper car with smooth silky V8 , don't embarrass yourself with pretend luxury car . Buy a Lexus and enjoy yourself ! Life's too short
in my country with one salary you can only get about 4-5 fill ups ( 60L) 60x 1.5 Euro= 90euro *5 tines =450 euro witch in my country is a decent salary , minimum wage is 220 euro... so yea getting a diesel car is the smart choice
