This is vintage stuff altogether !! My favourite banjo player in the whole wide world Kevin Griffin knocking sparks off a set of reels in the company of bouzouki giant Eoin O'Niell and turbo charged Quentin Cooper doing amazing things with a mandolin. Wonderful imagery and great sound too. Love it :)
Mighty music! Incredible filming, epic location, and savage playing. I like how they're giving out about someone at the start as well :) Just an epic video all around. Great job!
Gentlemen please, you're in the West of Ireland where truth is never asked to shepherd a story. Honestly Nora, I can't tell you how many pints I had-someone else was paying for them. Or how many camera angles that crazy director "had to have!" We probably had a pint for every angle and whiskey for the really great ones! And I would have been home a week ago for your aunty's 50th, but we were still shooting... The lighting was absolutely critical, they said. Lighting!? There's more light in Siberia than we have here, for fux sake! Let's go, says the AD. So we moved the whole operation to Baykalovsk and that's where time really got away from us...
Great music .... great playing and great tunes? Would love to know how you managed to take on and take off the banjo strap so many times without stopping playing! Better still...... drinking up the orange juice and spitting it back a few times.......and still no break in the tunes! Magicians as well as musicians! Well done

As a fellow bodhrán player one of the things I've always loved about Johnny Ringo's playing is the way he often adds a harmonic/bass element to the mix. You really need to listen with some decent headphones to hear hey nice you stupid

+Barry Teehan They are ninjas. The pint was drank and refilled, you just blinked and missed it.
@@SirSelby and the ability to remove and replace the banjo strap whilst playing at speed impressive! ;-)

Quentin is good craic.
I met him in Belgium with Eoin Ó Neill’s band 😺
Brilliant stuff, dosen't much better than that
Kevin sometimes plays "in a weird key". He has a version of Green Mountain and Bucks Of Oranmore in E Major! One of the greats............
Boys just want to have fun. Excellent.. (And you're right about Kevin and his brilliant banjo).
More please!
I like your play. Good job.
Dont you just love this :-)
Great stuff as usual !!
Lovely stuff
In case anybody is wondering, the last tune is better known as the Donegal Traveler. They play it in a weird key, btw.
Cool, never knew, thanks!
+Donegal Danny (CaptainNicola'sMandolin) was thinking is was a bit queer, do ya know what key
Oisin O Lochlainn
I think D is standard for this reel. C or G are acceptable though, it isn't a very common tune.
Donegal Danny This a nice enough tune, and the fact thats its not a common one makes me want to learn it more... Thanks
Magic
Have a listen to Kevin's album "Down In Doolin", you won't regret the time 👍👍
