*From the Manual*
Retrieve the Sacred Scroll!
Ryu Hayabusa is a member of the Dragon Ninja Clan, who have protected Japan for generations. He receives 5 message one day that the Dragon Village, home of the Dragon Clan, hes been brutally massacred. He rushes home only to find that all but one of the village members have been killed.
The last survivor of the village tells Ryu with his dying breath that the sacred Bushido scroll hes been stolen. The Bushido scroll is a scroll of power so
strong that its owner can control the world.
The fate of the word is in Ryu's hands as he fights against evil ninjas, gangsters and other villains to regain the Sacred Scroll of Bushido!
You are Ryu Hayabusa, last Ninja of the Dragon clan. You must fight your way through eight levels of villains to retrieve the Bushido. Each level gets
progressively harder, and your skills will be tested to the limit. But don't give up. The fate of the world rests squarely upon your shoulders!
*Trivia*
Ninja Gaiden for the Master System was critically acclaimed upon release. Sega Force reviewed the game and gave it a score of 90%. The main reviewer Mat Yeo states that Ryu "can jump, fire, use extra weapons and perform a handy trick to reach high ledges. Stand under the ledge, press jump and up to flip Ryu onto it." He stated that he was "well impressed with this game. I loved Ninja Gaiden on the Game Gear and this is a thousand times better!" He concluded that, with "loads of levels, tough villains and a challenging mission to complete, it should satisfy even those who’re sick to death of platform games." Another reviewer Chris Knight stated that the game is "great to look at, the music and in-game effects are nicely atmospheric, and above all, the controls work a treat.
I remember renting this one out from the local video store, and being blown away by the jumping from walls and climbing aspect
This is a truly and remarkable classic.
This game needs to be remade.
It already has. Ninja Gaiden on XBOX, one of the best games ever.
@@FlecheDeFer No, that's not what i meant.
I think we need a ninja gaiden collection the old school games
The arcade game plus console and handheld versions. Digital Eclipse or M2 should handle the emulation.
Looks better than the NES version
Sega's graphicans uses dark blue around the edges instead of black like Nintendo did.
but nes has more stage than sms
Certainly not!!! I fully disagree! Any NES version looks better, have a flashing action against this version, best music and cutscenes! That's my way of see this game.
It should be pointed out that this is an entirely different, non-canonical game that released a year after the 3rd NES Ninja Gaiden game.
No way, nes was such a classic. The game was hard as he'll but the soundtracks. The best
Needs a release on the Nintendo Switch as a compilation with all other console versions and an arcade version.

Me: I do not know WHO stole the Bushido Scroll and tore down the village like it was nothing to that culprit. Whoever did all of this, that abomination will pay dearly!!!!!!!! Time to NINJA UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🥷🏿
The gameplay is better than the nes runs smoother has better sound quality looks more pleasing than the nes color palette of hard to distinguish places you can actually jump on and the best part is you can actually clear a screen of enemies and not have to deal with the infinite spawn spam that made the nes version a insufferable garbage pile to play.
Wow i had no clue this existed!
Had this on Game Gear but never finished it. I really need to break that bad boy back out.
I never even knew this game existed. I could have played it on my Game Gear back in the day.
looks just as fun as the nintendo version
With better graphics.
Sega master system was definitely more capable than a 8bit system like famicom.
PMSL what utter balls
Yes, more colours and better graphics
I agree, but the music on the SMS is worse the Famicom in my opinion.
1:35 and then the music changes and the background turns red because it's payback time.
REALLY. GREADDY . 5.48s.
6:23 DAMN. 😠
I never heard it in 50hz before, seems so slow.
Mmmmmm no esta tan mal ,, es bueno 🤔🤔🤔🤔😊😊😊😊😊
Best Ninja Gaiden for an 8 bit console.
wow, sega had way better graphicans than nintendo.
Used to have a master system, loved playing on it, good wide variety of good games, never had this, wanted it, heard it was very good.
*Please save my Geisha daughter*
PURSIT TO TOKYO
12:31 That is what I want to know: WHY?
They have his daughter.
Love this game. The NES version gets a lot of attention, but I actually enjoy this one more.
the graphics look better than the nes, but nes game music is better.
1986?
. WU TANG. .
Masterpiece
Game looks like it runs amazing, but the NES version had much better stage presence, bosses, and the cinematics were top notch. The music alone was incredible. I like how different this version is though.
Hiddest of gems
Grafics look like shit. Sound is shit. The gameplay however looks good. NES version definitely is better, I mean come on the second boss just sits there and lets you kick his ass!
Graphics destroy nes so does gameplay
No flicker like flinja fligain
NES fanboy detected.
