Man, I really hope this channel blows up. The world needs more REAL people that are vulnerable and not pretending to be anything. Being this transparent with your feelings helps others (like me) feel like we are not alone. "A burden shared is a burden halved".

Hi Megan... a little suggestion re cleaning your dishes...take a spray bottle, add a amount of regular vinegar to water, and instead of using lots of water just spray your plates or whatever and wipe over with damp sponge or cloth. Keep having fun and enjoy your adventures. Cheers from Australia.

Hey Megan, I just fell upon your clips as I was thinking about putting a camper top on my small truck or whatever they call em -- and I thought I would take myself and my dog out to the desert and maybe try to get out of the city and experience the quiet; then I thought about making the back of the truck like more realistic to veg in; so your video here was so positive; you're funny and have a great heart -- thanks for posting this -- bfn😁🙏

You know, hearing you mention loneliness and being alone as pretty much interchangeable made me think of working in NYC surrounded by people but not talking to them and feeling terribly lonely and also backpacking for days without seeing anyone but never feeling lonely. I think which way you see being alone versus being lonely depends on how comfortable you are with your life at the time or how easy it is to generate your own happiness/ gratitude.

Cool video, love the waterfalls ! When I was your age, I felt loneliness for various reasons, and as you already know, the feelings come and go. Our brains are so amazing, so complex.....why do we get into a funk, and during that time, cannot see a way out ? Other times we are on a high, and nothing can bring us down.
These days I'm most-happy in nature, and I understand why, as per having listened to Eckhart Tolle and becoming present. Cycling, gravel and mountain biking, I love doing solo, but hiking, I love doin g with my dogs....alone, hiking would get a little lonely 🙂

Hi from Massachusetts ✌🏻 This video came up in my feed, thank you for sharing, I subscribed and look forward to seeing more of your videos! I just started making videos last year, long story short I'm 40 and spent a majority of my life numbing my senses. Last winter was a changing point for me, not sure why but it happened. Have a blessed day and safe journey!
Edit: I always am commenting before watching a video in its entirety and have to come back and add. "Unchecked loneliness" I think its a fear of the unknown. I hope you don't take this negatively but I see you as someone thats very meticulous and organized. Right down to the time you allowed for this journey/project and now its coming to an end its bittersweet. Its like "whats next?" I admire your initiative to make a goal, save for it and put a plan in action to achieve that goal. I know I'm rambling now, so I will leave you with this, live in the moment, not for the moment, trust your gut, and keep sharing this amazing journey you are on! ✌🏻🕉⛈️♾️

Good job! I tried living in my van in 2015 while still working full time in Portland, Or. Lasted 3 months until winter hit. People don't know how complicated it all is until you try it. Highs and lows. I felt very vulnerable sleeping in cities with people walking by talking late at night. Camping is enough for me now but I might try this lifestyle again at some point in the future depending where/how I work. You have good instincts be stay aware, but not afraid. Much luck to you on the road!

at home i wash my dishes by hand also , but i leave them to soak in a bucket of boiling soapy water first then just rinse clean that is if i was lazy and didnt do the dishes right after cooking and the food dried on them. also - a hack for doing italian night. only use one pot for the entire meal, and then use boiling water on the pot. everything else utensils etc can all be paper and disposable. save your disposable paper plates etc specifically for meals that come with additonal clean up or are difficult to clean when water is limited.

hi loved this vid, and have read some of the comments... just want to add my 5 cents worth.. I use 2 spray bottles for dishes, one water and one vinegar/water.. spray and rinse, dry with paper towels...and nothing says you can't eat your meal out of the pot/pan you cooked it in....also $20 blue diamond frying pan from walmart is stick free, wipe with paper towel, no pfas...solar shower bag holds plenty of water and is perfect for travel, heat in the sun all day, feels so good...
lastly don't know if you have them where you are but cracker barrel restaurants are a great place to park overnight.. usually other campers there.. I eat dinner, sleep, eat breakfast so it's a win-win for both of us...

Dishes? Hmm neat concept. lol I have no sink or running water, so my food comes ready to eat out of a box, bag, pouch or pop top can.

Beautiful Hot Springs. I have never been to one, but after seeing them on all the videos, I am intrigued. lol Why did you decide to travel? I admire your courage to do it being a solo female. Awesome! I'm new here, so it may have been in one of your earlier videos. It has been interesting to me that the young and old travel. I have my Ram Promaster already, but haven't made the plunge yet.

Natural hot springs are so cool! Hmm, seeing new and beautiful places is wonderful but most of all - I have enjoyed the challenges that travel can bring. It usually sends me out of my comfort zone and I find myself gaining more evidence of what I am capable of. It’s a good way to boost confidence. 😄
I wonder how an older person might answer that question!

@@MeganClaarke same reply from this 72 yo solo lady who hopes to travel long distances soon.. I have always thought being alone was okay... you run into enough like minded people traveling and that's usually enough..my longest time away from home so far was about 4 weeks and I loved it.. took a while to get used to the quiet but being in nature resolved that feeling

Hi Megan ✨🥰✨🤗🤗 you handle that situation well. Why can’t some people clean up their mess. Try the Dawn spray & wash detergent. I recommend use a hot pot for hot water. You are so amazing ✨💪🏼✨💪🏼✨👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼I enjoyed the background music 🫶🕉️thank you for sharing I appreciate you
