Merdeka Square or Independence Square (Dataran Merdeka) is located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It is situated in front of the Sultan Abdul Samad Building. It was formerly known as the Selangor Club Padang or simply the Padang and was used as the cricket green of the Selangor Club.
This is the place where you find that famous Malaysian flag and fountains! C, Kuala Lumpur Independence Square. This is a walking tour I took at night around 09:00 PM in Ramadan this year. So let me show you the beautiful architecture around Merdeka Square, including the Sultan Abdul Samad Building and Jamek Mosque (Masjid Jamek).
