We are truly thrilled to read several comments about the layers. We liked the idea but was not sure how others would. Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave such kind words.
Richard and Jennifer, that looks amazing! I like your epoxy finish, I used to use a finish like that on a lot of my bows. Very durable! I also really like your intros, you live in such a beautiful place!
Thank you Stan. As always, your comments mean so much to us and we appreciate it. Our area is pretty but we have watched many of your videos and we very much enjoy the scenery of your area as well.
Beautiful project. It’s great to be able to make something with a little more meaning sometimes. Though Mr. Poor Man has been on a roll with that lately anyway! And I feel like you might be finally appreciating sanding...
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I am thrilled that you like the project. Also... am I really on a roll or trying to get out of the dog house for something I did? (I will never tell!) LOL
Okay... I am going to have to agree with you about the wood! They all came together quite well. Dont worry about the places on Oahu. We have that thought out as well. 52 locations will cover one year, we can go back to places and take pictures of different trees, beaches, at different angles, time of day, etc. LOL
Congratulations to you and your family ❤, You guys have chosen an amazing selection of wood for this project, the final coat of epoxy really made this 'pop'. Great work as usual.
Thank you so very much, Dean. We really do appreciate it. We have learned a lot about epoxy as we use it. the first coats leaves bubble so it is to fill tiny holes, after sanding the second coat goes on smooth and really pops, like you said. Thank you for noticing.
this seems simple but there are so many details going on here, with everything from the alternating wood height to the alternating length. i wish i could capture how youre doing most of this, maybe will have to watch at least a dozen times lol
Mr Chase, we sincerely thank you for watching our video and taking the time to leave a comment. I am truly sorry that the actual details on making the cross were not included on the video. Our videos are intended to try to inspire people to just try to do things for themselves and not a step by step instructional. We have had other viewers make comments similar to yours and have recently tried one or two videos with detailed instructions, while other videos are still more of a "Here is an idea. You can try something like this too". If you have questions about making the cross, please ask here and I will do my best to provide you with a resolution.
@@Poor_Mans_DIY Hey it's ok! The materials to do this are not available to me anyway... I could plane down some beautiful dimensional lumber but do not want to do that haha. Im going with a more simple design. one question I would ask though, what all did you cover it with? What kind of epoxy? etc. Thanks again!
@@GettingAids1997 The woods I used are exotic Hawaii woods but you can certainly use any wood you like. I just went for three different colors/shades. If you look in the description of the video, there is an affiliate link that will take you directly to the product on Amazon. Obviously, you do not have to buy from Amazon but it will provide you with the details of the product itself. I believe Home Depot sells the same item. If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to ask.
