Is it possible to turn one of these mowers into a powered wheelbarrow? I may be overthinkin it,but i dont have a normal wheelbarrow and the mower has wheels...

This is such a help to me...I don't have a husband to do this stuff so I'm so grateful for your description of my mower. How do you disconnect that cable to put it down through the correct hole?

    Awesome consumer report video! :)
I, too, have seen that, multiple times on different makes and models...where the drive cable is incorrectly entering the transmission access compartment under the cover, instead of through the small hole designed for this. Is it a manufacturing flaw or done purposely? Since it's done on such a large scale, it has to be on purpose as every inspector can't possibly be that dense!?!?
The term for this is called 'planned obsolescence' or 'built-in obsolescence.' This is to generate long-term sales by reducing the time between repeat sales - shortening the replacement cycle. Basically, products are designed to break easily or to quickly go out of style. General Motors surpassed Ford by beginning this in 1924 and remained the dominant company in the industry. 'Planned obsolescence' goes back at least as far as 1932 with Bernard London's pamphlet "Ending the Depression Through Planned Obsolescence." London's plan would have the government impose a legal obsolescence on consumer articles, to stimulate and perpetuate consumption.
For automobiles, the list goes on - Triumph Mayflower; Renault Dauphine; Edsel; Corvair; AMC Gremlin; Chevrolet Vega and Chevette; Ford Mustang II; K-Cars; Ford Pinto; GMC Pacer; Yugo; etc.
Many veterinarians claim that "Science Diet" does this with their medicated foods. It helps the sick animal just enough, but, keeps it 'a little' sick to anticipate return veterinary visits!?!?
I'm sure that a lot of people stand by many of these these products and even love them, especially the Corvair. If you're smart, like the guy in this video, you know how and where to look for and correct manufacturing flaws before they become a problem and/or hazard.
Manufacturers can be money-grubbing, crooked, and, contemptible bastards!
    Thank you for posting! :)

Is there an adjustment for the gears in the wheel? My lawnmower keeps destroying the plastic gear in the wheel like is not grabbing enough of it.

I have a question, I have this same mower and replaced the front wheels with the slightly newer drive wheels from Sears oem and I didn’t get this mower originally with the original wheels that are the ones on yours in this video, anyways when setting the mower down while the wheels are engaged sometimes one wheel or both will grind and slow down until they are released from the harder pressure especially when slightly turning or going over bumps, is this signs of the bad gears that grip onto the wheels or what? I’m really unsure why it’s not smooth 247, brand new wheels and the gears looked fine I thought. Also the front wheels are a little loud when pushing it when engine is off

What are you supposed to do to CORRECT it? I don't get what you are saying here.

Thanks for the extra info and yeah, they don't make em like they used to. They charge more, reduce the quality, and become a parts vendor - all to increase profit margins. And where did all that get them - other than just a poor reputation?? I'd rather jerry-rig the belt or the wheels than than buy a belt from their parts business.

Kind of a late response but it's better not to get the factory part take the old belt to an automotive shop and they'll find one that fits the same it doesn't matter that it's made for a car it's cheaper

@@post.10 Thanks for the reply. I downloaded the manual and found the part number. Actually I got the mower from a friend and belt was missing.
