Thanks Paul these videos are absolutely brilliant. I'm currently doing a level 2 city & guilds in plumbing and I am finding these very helpful. Please please keep doing these vids they are quality.
Great video Paul. As an amateur plumber been doing that for years so glad I got it right. One minor point some pipe cutters round the end of the pipe a bit so it goes further into the fittings reducing the X dimension. No issue at all I think as long as you use the same cutting method and de-burring etc.
Good technical explanation, but easier way, cut a piece of tube of the fitting size at 100mm, insert fully into the fitting, measure from center to the end of the pipe fully iserted into the fitting, anything over 100mm is the "X" dimension.

Good video Paul. Will be useful for when we have to calculate pipe length in college
Great video, I've been struggling with this but you have explained it very well, thankyou
Great video I like your explanation
Could you do a video about Y dimensions please?
@@PAULOatham Yes. That is the one. If you could and don't mind? I am 26 and just training to be a plumber, so all of this is new to me.
Nice watch
Great!
Stuck on LCS for months.
can't believe my pre trades tutor is allowing us to waste copper because we haven't been taught this... 😂😂 i mean it's simple and intuitive but still
