Jackie, you make my heart sing and my soul dance watching you create. I get so inspired and can’t wait to try some of the processes 💗✨💖. When you showed the reverse grid, I said out loud, ‘oh no, she’s going to cut it all up’! But, what a transformation and a great lesson in trust. The mini pieces are beautiful on their own and don’t think I could paint over them but am sure they would elevate to another level of gorgeousness, again a lesson in trust and experimenting. The gel pulls are stunning as always especially the first one 😍. Thank you so much for being here and showing us your different skills and most of all sharing your beautiful creative light 💖✨💖. Big hugs of love and gratitude 🙏🏻💗🙏🏻
makes beautiful paper punches, too. love my guillotine paper cutter.. quick, easy, and exact measurements. im going to try your background technique in journal pages. ty.
I learned so much in this video. I love small geometric shapes as much as you do and cut large pieces down to about 1.5” x 3” and mat for use on card fronts. But girl, the large piece in this video would have been framed and displayed in my entry. Stunning. Thanks for the great tip on the importance of toning.
I got so excited about the grid squares on this large piece! Every stage was interesting, but making so many smaller canvas opportunities from that huge painted paper made me want to jump up and down and clap! 🎉😂❤ Happy TH-cam Anniversary!
Really beautiful mini pieces are all these squares, Jackie! So inspirational! I have to admit that my heart missed a beat when you reached for the scissors 😄! But just one beat because I trust you and your incredible artistic skills 🤩! Aloha from Berlin ❤🧡💛💚💜
Such a wonderful video, Jackie! It always SO warming to my heart and soul to see you in your HAPPY PLACE, doing what you LOVE to do, and generously sharing that LOVE with all of us!! I'm so very grateful for YOU and your TALENT, ENERGY and JOY, Jackie!! xoxoxo
Deanna, thank you very very much. You were an OG supporter from nearly day one, and I am so happy that we've grown together, creatively this year - cheers! 🥂
🎉Congrats on your 1 year YT Anniversary.🎉 It's always great to see you having so much fun in your studio. 😘 It's always the simple things in life that bring the most joy.
@@PaintedPaperStudio I am more than happy to be here. I look forward to my Saturday afternoon's because of your channel. This morning I got out a large piece of paper and drew the squares on and then painted. I had so much fun. I'm letting it dry before I cut it up. I need to invest in some larger watercolour sheets. I used what I had but at the time it was more about the fun of it than the outcome. I really enjoyed myself. THANK YOU
I just home with my favourite chai tea latte, sitting in my favourite room, the solarium, looking out at our pretty yard and what pops up? My favourite artist! Life is so great. Thanks Jackie!
Jackie, I love finding the surprise images in your process. When you added the titanium white over the blue and turned your paper side ways I could see a faint facial image. Always love your process.
Your videos are so valuable. Learning new techniques is a great investment for one’s art. Plus, there’s pure entertainment value in watching you. Plus, it primes the pump to make art. Plus, your videos are marvelous therapy-I’m having an “uh” day, your joy and energy turns things around. Too bad TH-cam won’t let me like +++.
I am so happy that you get so much out of these videos, Nabby. The videos are not scripted, so what you see is exactly what you would get if you were in the studio with me. When I started posting the videos, that was what I had hoped people would experience. 🥰
Jackie you are just amazing! Thank you so much for these amazing inspirational videos! Just can’t wait to start creating my own masterpieces!❤❤❤ Watching and following from New Zealand ❤
Congrats on your one year anniversary 🎉 In 1977 I was in my early twenties having the time of my life 😊 Another great Saturday morning watching you smile and paint 💕 This background would make beautiful greetings cards!
Oh my! That painted paper turned out so beautifully. The depth and mystery you created really inspires me. And then those little squares... they each had such lovely compositions. ps: Thanks for sharing the link for your guillotine cutter. I have one that is very old and wasn't that fantastic a quality when it was new. I still use it all the time but struggle with it so I think it's time for an upgrade.
I am working my way threw all the shows I haven't seen yet. Remembering to like😉. I do have brush envy about that badger hair brush lol. I use the large synthetic makeup brush from the dollar store and do get some good blending results.
Many more happy painting paper hours to come, Jackie And congratulations to 17.700 subscribers in only ONE YEAR. Isn´t that miraculous? And I loved hearing the song and I also loved reading one of my first comments 🥳😂. You must have done something with noodles. So funny! Good job my dear. Britta 🥰
Thank you, Britta! LOL - I did do something with noodles and you were one of the very first to comment. What a fun year it's been - thank you for always being so supportive! 🥰
Thank you for another video for the soul❤ My only regret is that it's 11.30 here in Sweden and it's a little bit late to go up and start painting. But tomorrow I will.paint papers😀😀😀
Lovely video as usual! I have a question for you.... If someone has never used and can't afford fluid acrylics at the moment, would diluting regular acrylic paint in a little water give a similar effect? Thank you
Hi Chloé - Yes, you can mix with water, but be care with the proportions. You don't want the integrity of the paint to falter. Here is an interesting article on it from Golden Paint's blog justpaint.org/how-much-water-can-you-safely-add-to-acrylic-paint/
First of all : Bon anniversaire. I'm exited when I see a mail from you in my inbox. The paper you created is beautiful . Now i want to create some myself :) But the link to the template seems not to work ( on both video's with the grid template) Am I the only one ?
Hi Granny! The paper is 140# Watercolor paper. The exact paper is listed in the description all the way down under the "supplies" section (it's the first one 😉) 🥰
Hi Cynthia! You could add water to make your paints more fluid, or you could mix in a medium like Airbrush Medium. Just be care not to use too much of either so that you can maintain the integrity of the acrylic paint. 🥰
I always love watching your videos and grateful for you sharing your knowledge, you are always so generous. Congrats on your 1 year! OH and that skinny brayer is one of my FAVORITE tools!! and the one that is also only about 1/2" wide......
⭐ Here is where to get the Grid Template, in both US and A4 sizes You can get it for free here painted-paper-studio.ck.page/grid-template ⭐
I now have what I call my 'Jackie smile.' When I have one of those wonderful moments when I'm happy with what I've created, I do my Jackie smile!
Same here! Because of Jackie, now I get excited even for my palette pulls.
This makes me so happy, Valerie! 🥰
As you should, RevChristine, palette pulls are the best! 🥰
I love the way these pieces make you so joyfully happy.
They really do. 🥰
When I do this , I make cards! It’s true that the "bad" pieces take on new life when cut into minis! It’s just plain fun!!
There are no bad pieces 😳😂😉 except when there are! And you're right, Dede, cutting them down makes magic 🥰
Thoroughly love, love, loved this video…
This makes me so happy, Marina! 🥰🥰🥰

That's a great alternative, Cindy! Last year I tried using a men's badger shaving brush - I spent a lot of time pulling hair out of my paint 😂

Listening to the band!! Remember this well
Love it, Margie! 🥰

Thank you, Joyce!
This looks so cool! I’m going to get some luminous paint
It will truly change your work, Marie! 🥰
It would also be great to use larger grids.... 6X6? 8X8... etc for those of use that work in larger pieces.
I agree 100%, Margie! 🥰
This method is great for /often used for ATC’s (artist trading cards) too. Instead of 3x3 in, 2.5x3.5
Very cool - I didn't know this. Next time I do this I'll mention the ATC angle. 🥰
Do you have the recipe for the homemade paint color? I didn’t see it below thank you.
Hi Johanna! The link is there, but you might have missed it. It's the DIY video and here is a direct link to it - enjoy! 🥰
So gorgeous!!! What kind of paper are you using? (Brand and weight?)
Hi Downtime! All the supplies, including the paper are listed in the description of the video. 🥰

What does the big, dry brush accomplish?
Hi Bonnie! The badger brush blends the glaze so that no brush or brayer marks remain. It can also blend out hard edges. 🥰
First of all : Bon anniversaire. I'm exited when I see a mail from you in my inbox. The paper you created is beautiful . Now i want to create some myself :) But the link to the template seems not to work ( on both video's with the grid template) Am I the only one ?
Hi Mary Ellen! The binder I use is this one. amzn.to/3XZ74l1 It makes everything better.🥰
How do you keep the paper from buckling from the moisture. I am using a 140 lb all medias paper.
I use heavy watercolor paper 300 g (140 lb). If using a lighter weight paper, try gessoing the front and back of the paper first - it really helps!
Ty so much
Perhaps I missed it in the details. But what kind of paper is that? Curious girl needs to know!
Hi Curious Kristina! The paper I used is a 22x30" watercolor paper - here's a direct link for the details amzn.to/3WkrMur
What is the paper you are actually painting on? I didn't seem to see it listed in your supplies. Awesome video.
Hi Granny! The paper is 140# Watercolor paper. The exact paper is listed in the description all the way down under the "supplies" section (it's the first one 😉) 🥰
@@PaintedPaperStudio I am sorry I missed that. Thank you for the information. I wondered if it wasn’t a strong paper like Arches 140#
how can i make my acrylic paints "fluid"? do i just add water?
