@@Og_BlueToadFan913 Yoshi will survive the fall, there’s obviously a ground at the very bottom that we players don’t see, but Mario will die if he falls down. That’s why you’ll see Yoshi in other further levels again. If Yoshi would die in his first level you wouldn’t see him anymore, would you ?

I remember playing a level in Super Mario World where you have to use the P-Balloons to go up. And after purposely killing Mario by colliding into one of the Paratroopas, Mario kept falling to his death. I got to see Mario's SMW death sprite in a really long vertical area until the death music ended.

You can also fall to your death in Mario's debut game, the original Donkey Kong. I believe you also can in Yoshi's Island because I think some of the sections where you play as Mario instead of Yoshi have bottomless pits, but I'm not completely sure about that.

I personally did not grow up with Mario, but once, I dusted off my mom's NES to play Super Mario and I found it very difficult (but fun) to play, took me quite a while to get past the first level, then I gave the controller to my mom and she basically breezed through a whole level first try 😂
She hasn't touched the game for 30 years.

i still still remember a version of super mario with a health bar and when it’s reached 0 mario will make a eary screaming sound and died with alot of blood spilling out, the game is like super mario bros 1 but with a huge map and some checkpoint that you can teleport at anytime
