the...........classiest move I've ever witnessed. Tom Kite stopped Grant Waite prior to Waite committing a two stroke penalty in the Kemper, one year at TPC Avenel. It was midway on the back nine of the last round, Kite lost by one stroke as I recall, to the man he advised before he made a mistake. Very few, if any, people would have done what Tom Kite did. Pure class, Kite was handed a gentleman's game and he preserved that tradition. Instant, incurable Tom Kite fan from that moment on.

All I remember about Crenshaw’s captaincy are the hideous shirts.

Crenshaw was a disgrace as were the rest of the US team, wives and whoever else behaved like rabid wildebeest trampling over the green and showing such disrespect to Olazabal and the traditions of golf.
Crenshaw would have earned respect if he had told Leonard to pick up Olly's ball and concede the putt for a half but he was too desperate to win and accordingly has earned the same contempt that he showed for the values that the game of golf holds dear.

You sound bitter. Must be a European. I think they could have handled it better, but, oh well. Get over it. All they did was celebrate.

@@swansonz3534 Indeed. Wadkins said it best: The Europeans always blamed someone else for their inadequacy.
