I used my 2x 60x for the first time at a wedding last weekend and my goodness is it phenomenally good. Their stupid uplights behind the head table were flickering like crazy so I was super happy to have a flicker-free source to light the speeches.

I'm kinda thinking of getting it for photography, but I'm pretty new to light that isnt flash. Isnt the amaran 200d even brighter? Not as portable though probably.
@@taaaaaaaazzzzzz the 200D/X are brighter for sure. I use them for studio work, but I want the 60x for event stuff.
@@WeddingFilmSchool As a photographer shooting with Canon R5s, the mirrorless cameras struggle to find focus in dim reception spaces. I'm adding one of the Apurture LS 60Xs to my kit to help out and raise the ambient lighting just enough.
So do you recommend this light not only for wedding filming but also for wedding photography?
It's a constant light source which is not typically what people use for photography but I mean its a nice light

Does the Aputure LS 60x allow you to adjust the beam angle from the phone app?
I don't believe so as it's a physical lens moving it's not electronic
Have you tried it with Dome Mini II ? Or any other softbox?
Yes sir. Great for a lot of applications. Not for weddings but awesome in a studio setting. Obviously it knocks the light down so you need to consider that when paring it with other lights but the 60x is great when paired with the Dome Mini II.
Aputure's prices have always been very competitive. This is especially the case with the LS 60x almost half the price about four times the brightness compared to the Practilite 602. I'll always be an Aputure fan.
I’ve had mixed results with the durability of Aputure lights, but u can’t argue against the value and functionality of the 60x. It’s amazing. - Jay

As someone who travels, the Practilite 602 has more value. That dangling cable on the Aputure will wear out. Agree with the beam angle, it does make a difference on the dance floor. Sure, you can increase the light power with the Apurture but that’s when guests start to hate the light.

One note for the knobs: the reason they are "stickier" is because that way it's MUCH harder to accidentally mess up the beam angle while doing anything else :)
any specific reason why pick the 60x over the 60d? aside from the 60x being bi-color.

@@Louie-ty6bh haven’t tested it against but I imagine it is close. I can tell you the bicolor version is INSANELY bright. Way brighter than you need.m for weddings. It’s great!
Daylight version is brighter from what i understand. I don’t think you need a brighter light than the 60x though. I find myself using less than 50% of the power most of the time. -Jared

Aputure does not have a fresnel lens. It’s a standard convex glass lens.

@@mervynjack4108 like I wrote “almost” but you can buy the fresnel and barn doors for 69 more
You can buy an add on fresnel for many lights, but these lights are designed as fresnels, so perhaps they could compare these fresnels with a few other normal lights with add on fresnel adapters but I think they'd all loose on size and convenience.

Too many variables. That being said we do about an hour on a 98 V Mount battery.
