Hey guys welcome back to my channel i hope yall have been doing well!! Sorry for not uploading the past few weeks, I just needed to take a little break from social media in general (including youtube) so thats why i've been gone bUT im excited to be back especially because filming/editing this video was a TIME lmao. This video was actually supposed to go up a few weeks ago but because of my break it's going up now and obviously the movie isn't as ~trendy~ (and almost borderline irrelevant at this point lmao )so apologies for my lateness but hopefully you guys still enjoy! :)
IF you've somehow been the internet without hearing about this movie, today's video is on Netflix's 365 days. the best way to describe the movie is that it's like a polish hybrid of fifty shades of grey and after so it was definitely a TRIP to witness to say the least. it seems, for the most part, most of the hype for this movie was coming from tik tok, as i mention in the video i hadn't actually seen the hype so when my friend suggested it without telling me the full context of the movie i was VERY surprised at what i fell into... which was basically a netflix produced wattpad themed nightmare. i kid you not the plotline for this movie is the most generic wattpad story premise to the point where i think the creators of this story/movie owe a few wattpad writers a cheque or two lol. if you've been on my channel for a while you probably know that me and wattpad have a very.. interesting relationship so this movie being a literal adaptation of the platform itself was an experience that... i dont know if wanted to experience at all but alas.. here we are lol. hopefully you guys enjoy the video if you have seen the movie i'd love to hear what you thought about it- ESPECIALLY the scene where the girl falls off the boat because that was full stop the funniest thing i've seen all quarantine.

I heard so much about fifty shades of grey so I tried watching it and I couldn't even get half way through the first movie. First of all, it was boring asf, and second of all.. Gross? I mean I was 13 at the time and my brain couldn't process what was happening but it was somehow bland as well. I used to read so much Wattpad when I was 13 so I was like this won't be too weird but I still hated it. The mix of bland and weird didn't sit right lmao.

It’s definitely very common in Quotev (I read one of these stories. It’s very well written since it’s doesn’t portray the whole kidnapping, blackmailing, and abuse stuff as romantic. Literally, for the majority of the story, the main character is trying to escape and get back to her family. Every time she talks with a mafia member, it’s like she’s walking on glass. She has to do whatever she can to survive)

Getting to know her, hiding his actual job from her, and contemplating what to do now that they're in a relationship because he doesn't want her in that sort of life...then it might have been good.
It could have been story of love, both criminal and relationship drama, maybe even a struggle of morality.
But this? This gets a VERY strong no from me.

There are literally so many great writers out there that want their stories to be in the public but somehow Netflix was okay with this???
I have lost all my motivation to write professional stories because of books and movies like this. If this is the thing that gets your bills paid, well... Better look for other creative avenues.

This is the BEST example of a wattpad plotline. Italian mafia? Check. Violent yet "soft" and "kind" dom male protagonist? Check. "Unconventionally" pretty female brunette protagonist with "boring brown eyes"? Check. And that's not counting all the little details and phrases they use. I'm shamed to admit that I could actually predict some scenes based on my extended wattpad experience.
If that main character is NOT conventionally attractive... wtf am I supposed to be ?

My friend watched this and spoke about it on our group chat. I thought she was exaggerating when she said she’d never watch it again cause of his shitty it is. I understand why she said that the moment I started watching, first 40 minutes and I was disgusted, kidnapping and rape isn’t attractive and fun at all no matter how good looking the main character is.
