That was a breezy video of Hyderabad and the city is looking good. Lots more to see. A piece of info you didn’t mention or weren’t told about. That statue of Buddha standing on the little island in the lake centre which is 60 feet tall and weighing over 400 tons was brought to the site some 35-40 years ago. Unfortunately it slipped off the specially made barge and sank into the lake bed about 40 ft deep where it lay horizontally for 5 years. Fortunately it didn’t break or suffer damage. And then a few years later after several efforts an expert team of deep divers with their latest machines raised the statue back onto the barge and brought it to the spot where it now stands. Quite an engineering feat in itself.
You should have visited Financial District and Hi-tech city, where you will find the World's largest AMAZON AND MICROSOFT offices and Google's largest office is under construction, And These are the Modern highly westernized areas of the City,which are better than Bangalore's Electronic city or White Field.

This statue is that of former prime minister P.V. Narasimha Rao who was the PM from 1991 through 1996. One of the best statesman politician who turned India from a closed economy to one that is open and thriving. He is the architect of modern India.
Ben.... You should read on how Hyderabad joined the Indian union and all the drama and politics that happened around India's independence timeframe. Will give you a good perspective on how this part became part of India.

You should cover the Golkonda fort and the Birla Temple as well and also explore the neighbourhood - do check out Warangal and Khammam towns nearby, and the hilly forested Adilabad area to the north. You've come at the right time too, its July (almost) and the weather is great! Happy travels!
