Channel should be re-named to Your Most Transparent Tech Bro. Cheers mate
ahhh appreciate the love man haha
Thanks for your startup stories!
Glad you like them!
thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks very much for these lessons
Any time! Hope you find it useful.
Just starting my SaaS journey LOL thanks broo
welcome to the grind 🫡
Can you tell us how to start building apps ? What to learn ? How to get started?
Great video, and love the honesty. The point about having a true passion for the industry really hits home for me. Getting close to launching my first SaaS product myself. I am truly into the subject matter and industry...otherwise I don't think I'm the type to stick with it long term. However, I do not work in this industry, but it's a hobby of mine, and I know a great deal about it.
yeah I think every builder is different! I think you just have to figure out what type of builder you are and what drives you.
Also another idea. Try to get the user to sign newsletters. In that newsletter you send the user a partial article to awaken the interest again with some numbers or special cases you know make them curious on how they did that and if the user thinks wow this is interesting i can somewhat relate ... and they actually like your writing style then they will most likely click on the newsletter to read more of the article. After that they should go on your page and be convinced by your service/ product. Thats like a really good funnel then.
You seem atleast more honest than other people who make these kind of videos but ultimately you are also selling a marketing course
I 1000% understand why some people hate info products. But the whole reason I made this course was bc I got a handful of emails/DMs about how to do social media marketing for them so I made this course to help those people. This course is not for everyone but it’d also be silly of me not to provide supply for something that has a clear demand. I’m really sorry mentioning a course is triggering 😭
yeah def agree that caring about the product/niche is really important to really make it big, but throughout the video I bit had the feeling that you are like always trying to do the marketing yourself, I think thats not necessary and also too much if you already developed it, you can just come up with a social media/content strategy and hire a person that produces content for it
100% agree. That's another change that I made in my recent products. Got a cofounder to help me out with the marketing and it's been game changing.
Took so many tries to learn that B2C SaaS is impossible 😂
Interesting idea for the markting pretty common tho. I would actually recommend you to try to get some clients and market stuff for them. After that you can use testimonials and grow a stronger reputation. Also i would highly recommend you to update your website I see you are using tailwind so literally any template would be amazing to use. Try to use different fonts to highlight different aspects i noticed that fonts and colors are one of the main points to actually highlight stuff for your visitors. There is too much information on the page try to keep the hero section simple highlighting what you do. It already takes so long for my eyes to even notice what this is about. Also add something visual. I would put your faces into a horizontal container form you and your cofounder. A gradient might actually work for the background highlighting what you do with a brighter color on top. Good luck!
Really appreciate the feedback! will definitely look into it.
@@YourAverageTechBro yeah gl
THE GREAT CONTENT OUT THERE!!! btw im not a coding ninja and i dont like coding so is it possible for me to build saas and apps and start my saas journey
Search : No Code Tools
Example : Bubble io
Could I ask if you've considered sponsoring other content creator to advertise for you and what the pros and cons were? You mentioned a few times that you didn't want to change your social media image to fit your product like with the interviewing tool but why not get people already in that space to promote it for you? That way you can create content around the development of the product (videos like this and also devlogs) and not the "5 tips to boost your resume" videos.
Also great video, really enjoyed your perspective on this.
thank you for being honest
anytime! glad you enjoyed the content
3:20 I disagree that creators or any kind of person hates spending money on things, anybody just doesn spend money on things they dont see the value or ROI in, if you build a tool for someone that saves a lot of time or money they wouldnt think twice about spending money on it
good points all around. I just had a tough time dealing w/ individual creators which was tough for me lol
@@YourAverageTechBro yeah understand bro, very helpful video
Appreciate the content bro 👍. You said that you were not the right person to market the 3 minute journal and that other creators could have marketed it better. I like the idea and was wondering if you’ve considered partnering up with ”the right founder / creator” for the 3 minute journal? Wouldn’t that work?
100%. If I were to do it again I would do that. But at least for now I’m building some other stuff
haha no way! my gf used chat pdf for a while lol. Came in handy. Had no clue that would be one of your SaaS
Small world haha
@YourAverageTechBro yeah no kidding. Wish you well with future products.
Made a few with not much success over last few years myself. My next project is unmonetized but will help me and others create SaaS products faster. It's a SaaS specific boilerplate for Laravel and Vue stack so hopefully i can crank out products faster going forward haha
Interesting! What about tech choices?
I have a whole video on my channel dedicated to breaking down my tech stack - check it out :)
SO basically you are moving into selling shovels for others to get rich instead of building something yourself... lmaooo
I think it's important to to have a variety of products that you sell. Sure, right now I'm building an info product rather than a proper tool but I'm also actively working a more proper saas tool to launch soon. Variety is the spice of life 🫡
Most underrated tech youtuber!
🥹 too kind thank you, friend!
Nice! do you think FB/google ads work for bootstrapped saas projects?
100% they do. I know some friends who have used them to go. I personally haven’t tried too much tho
Bro you could sell the apps that you no longer work on. I mean apps tend to sell for amazing prices
hey, do you edit your videos or outsource them?
mix of both!
@@YourAverageTechBro thanks
Great video , have you read million dollar weekend ?
Not yet! But been meaning to
Why didn't you try to build any B2B product? Don't you think that there might be some niche problem there that might interest you?
Funny you mention that b/c now I am transitioning a bit more to b2b products, starting with thecontentmarketingblueprint.com. Trying to build products to help businesses grow with the power of video is my current thesis!
This is a story, about how you were not serious about any of these ideas and didn't do marketing.
Just because your write some code, it doesn't matter.
If you have a job, you can hire people to do marketing for you. In building a business code is the low value activity. It is the marketing that is the most important.
Also you didn't focus on one product.
how much money have you made building software
Are you going to sell any of these apps you’ve built but shutdown? If so, let me know!
I have this problem of how to build advanced SAS ideas I know the basics
Same here
@@Carlvensky7 we should do something about it
Not me creating a link-in-bio tool............"But this time its different!"
better to start a landscaping business and buy saas apps from developers in like chile
I love your videos and the transparency 🙏 but I can't help but note: 8:11 "I realized I do not want to make a content business". --> 14:41 "'Hey guys, you might want to checkout my new content business." 😅
Hahahaha yeah this one…is interesting. I think the content marketing blueprint is a little bit easier for content business bc writing case studies + filming video courses is much easier than writing code tutorials. But yes a little confusing lol
Is socialque still live?
Not at the moment! But might be revived soon 👀 stay tuned
Also another idea is if you actually just want to be an article page try to partially get the attention of the reader or add some drive to the human nature. Like say how much money they made make the user relate more to the actual success cases give them more hope. Things like: watch how these 2 students built a buisness from 0. bla bla bla. you get the point. Like this it is so bland and boring only showing the views. Add some statistics how much money they made. How many views in what time period. Some graphs etc etc . Just giving you some ideas
what did happen to your hair?
lol I got a haircut. It'll grow out soon 😬
2:40 warning ⚠️
It's too funny! 🤣🤣
Couldn’t make it the right way so you became a shovel seller, that’s ok, many guys do that when they realized the money is there sellling shovel to gullible ppl
95% bots les than 5% people
i understand the desire to hate an info product (i've been there), but this is also just one product of many I have in mind. More proper saas tools coming soon, don't you worry about that.
hey guys who would like to build with me? I've got ideas
May I join you?
You know how to code, but you have to learn how to think like an entrepreneur. If a project goes wrong you have to know exactly what you did wrong. Otherwise you will keep having these terrible ideas. You cannot just say "I don't know why I stopped it" I am like "you made a mistake, either you didn't keep working on it or you have selected the wrong idea to work on." You have to take responsibility. Secondly, you have to stop persuing new shiny ideas. Give each idea a time that makes sense, a time that you can decide what exactly is wrong and why you can't grow it. Don't just dump it when it gets hard. Every project that you will work on will get hard at some point. Love you, take care.
It's eye-opening to hear that a software engineer who worked for 2 years at Google didn't know how to build an app from scratch...
different skill sets
Bruh building anything that comes to mind. Go with post nut clarity, before you build more
post nut clarity with building SaaS is so real lol
For 3 Minute Journal, why not find an influencer in the niche and do a joint venture with them?
If I were to do it again I 100% would’ve done this. But afterward just wanted to move on to something else tbh
You should describe each SaaS app in the timestamps, Saas X is too ambigious and I can't scroll and I'm forced to watch the whole video.
But aint nobody got time to watch whole video
Too much yapping, stop lying that you would not simply get in front of camera for 40k monthly income
hmm? sorry I don't quite get your comment
Hi, how can I contact you ?
