Very good Engine: compact, easy to use. I might use it for my next project.

Thank you, flax really looks like a serious engine

You can try it out quite quickly flaxengine.com/download/. I was modifying scripts in less than 30 minutes

You both know what you are talking about. Good. I like the vtable discussion especially.

i tried flax when unity made that mistake and i think the engine is good but two days trying was enough for me to understand that it was not good enough for me 😅specially for mobile dev... so i tried another game engine :) anyways, is a good project and i have high hopes on it

You might mention what have you lacked, Wojtek might keep an eye on that here :)

He's clearly super talented, but there's no way any serious studio would bet their livelihood on a single guy's side project. He should get funding and start to work on the engine full time, with a proper team.

Well, provided that he wants to bet his life making a living out of game engine development and competing with engines like Unreal, Unity or Godot. And it seems like this business is difficult to be profitable (see Unity financial issues, Godot being open source, an not-sure-whether-Unreal-is-financed-by-the-money-it-earns) :D

@@GameEngineeringPodcastYeah, who knows. Maybe it could compete with something more niche with a different target audience (like, say, Unigine). Or maybe not. I have no idea of course... But if I was him, I would either try to get funding from someone who knew how to make money out of this, or admit it's just a hobby and go fully open source, no royalties.

Respect to the guy, but he looks very young, like he is still in his twenties. I always thought that a mature engine has to be made by mature developers with lots of experience and formal education. You are just too young for that in your twenties, except you started at a baby age and your life is basically occupied by nothing else than game-engine related things.

Frankly, I have my utmost respect for Wojciech. Not only he’s at this level of programming skill in such an early stage, but he also does this in his SPARE TIME beside he’s full time job and family time. He’s incredibly productive

There's teenagers today beating records set by pro athletes decades ago.
You always stand on the shoulders of giants. It's your choice to learn efficiently and avoid pitfalls to pit yourself ahead, or just coast through life doing the bare minimum.

@@ChucksSEADnDEAD "teenagers today beating records set by pro athletes" Those records are based on primitive skills though, as any fly can beat a human in reaction time. But creating a mature engine requires a mature experienced mind. And I always thought it takes decades to mature to that state. It's correct though that we can learn faster today though as more learning resources are available now.
