    relax, release, let go and enjoy your mind's antics, thank it for the entertainment it provides, and if it has personal problems, retrain it to enjoy and be thankful for the value of its personal problems, eventually it will laugh with you rather than at you.

      Thank you very much for your wise words. I've had a rough year. 12 months of deep unhappiness. People like you make me keep on keeping on.

    You are not the mind……not your thoughts…..not your perceptions……not your feelings……so don’t identify with it.

    I'm what's being observed I'm the observer I'm the act of observation.....What isn't humanity accomplishing. While accomplishing who's not accomplished?

    by mind does he mean prefrontal cortex or feelings or? are there not some that need to work on thinking?

      To me the mind shows up in the thoughts and reactions we have everyday. The brain is the bridge between the mind and the body. Our mind influences emotions and they are linked but they’re not exactly the same

      @theelement6255 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, thinking is not your problem. You can work on thoughts. Western therapy embraces this…but this ain’t that

    • @Varryify
      @Varryify 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      With mind he means anything that comes up as words, feelings, thoughts, visions, ideas or even the forms that you perceive. As long as you identify with any of it and hold on to it you form attachments. The minds tries to find truth in these attachments to find a one fixity 'thing' is the truth. But God is beyond all that. The essence of what you are is beyond all that. It makes everything move within the physical world yet it is unseeable and it doesn't move. Meditation helps a lot because all of the attachments a human being forms in life are a search of the mind to find itself. But it can not do it so it keeps searching. With meditation and pure focus (awareness) you can let these compulsions die out. Mind you, you don't really do it as there is no doer. It's more about losing all that you thought was you to discover what you really are. God bless you

      @@Varryify what a wonderful discourse on this. I agree wholeheartedly. And it’s so freeing. Now my mind kicks up but it’s not a big deal because that’s just its nature. It’s not personal. I am safe

    This is perhaps the one teaching of Doc's that I don't get. I don't get positing anything beyond Awareness, unless those categories refer to qualitative shifts in a "deepening" Awareness, which thereby assume the precedent categories too... this teaching somehow seems uncharacteristically janky.

    • @Varryify
      @Varryify 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's normal that it seems janky. But it's possible to experientially 'know' this. You see there is no knower or observer as a separate entity doing anything. But to put this in words automatically makes it seem that it's personal because of the mode of how this truth is conveyed.

    • @Varryify
      @Varryify 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There is no deepening. The depth has always been there, but you're less aware of it because you focus on all the other thing happening within the mind.
