Because they aren’t evil. I actually like some of the more recent evil teams (excluding team yell) because they have actual motivation and story other than “we’re evil and we want to take over the world mwahaha”.
Honestly Team Star seems to be a group that would of became a evil team if things had kept going like they where.

I'm pretty sure evil teams today are just the red herring villains to cover for the real villain.
In my opinion Teams don't have to be all "I'm gonna end the world!!" It just matters on how good they actually are. On Team yell you were just bashing through the grunts to get to Piers While for Team star you were actually on a time limit and you could only bring 3 pokemon for the first part. But for Piers you had tons of time and could have a full party of 6. So Paldea's evil team was way better than whatever they had for Galar.
Team yell isn't even a evil teams they are just a setup for the rose revela they are just supporters

That’s because they actually have a reasonable and realistic motive to do what they do. They’re kids. The crazy plan, costumes and whatever makes sense. A delinquent gang headed by talented young folk to resist a system in what limited way they can.

Team Star isn't actually an evil team... the error that a lot of people make is to consider anything with "Team" in the name an evil team, when this is not the case. Same for Team Yell, when officially the Galar evil team is the Macro Cosmos.

I get it’s a meme, but I wanna share my opinion
Team star, IMO, is the best “evil” team. Their motivation is so on-theme with the school stuff but also the most believable/realistic motivation we’ve seen so far. Getting bullied so bad that you rebel against school and end up becoming the bad guys is actually accurate for some. Don’t even get me started on how the entire team’s music is straight fire. ESPECIALLY the grunt theme. 1:44 in the grunt theme hits different.
So they're just a bunch of school shooters? That's all I got out of that. Bullied kids that turned into something far worse than their bullies.

Interesting characters, fun gameplay to beat, some challenging battles, absolute fire music, a good story, some postgame interaction, an obvious twist but hey at least there was any sort of buildup.
Lots of people complain about evil teams not even being evil anymore but honestly I'd rather have a team that was just misunderstood bullied people instead of another team plotting world domination or some other extreme change. They're breaking away from the usual formula, and I like it
IMO, the recent teams have felt more in-line with the protagonists being children, too. Like it makes way more sense for a teenager to be dealing with the school bullies or some dumb rowdy sports fans than in previous generations where supposedly responsible adults were encouraging you to go face off with a straight-up criminal organisation.
I dunno, I like the higher stakes from older teams since they feel more like a threat.

They where a large group with leaders stronger then some gym leaders, they are anti-authoritarian, we’re close to either being expelled/dropping out of school and where already creating base camps around the region.

I used to wonder trade paradox mons and starters. Then I've had enough of getting nothing in return. So I caught a magicarp with a masterball, named it ''Uvbentrolled'' and sent it. Then I felt remorse, because the person who got it actually gave me a sprigatito.
Honestly i saw a meme the other day of the scarlet and violet rival doing the majima coming out of the sewer thing and now i can't get that out of my head lol. Like imagine she had a majima everywhere mechanic where she would either hide in plain sight or use disguises to battle you when you least expect it
The newer evil teams are cool, because they’re not even the evil team anymore. It’s now secretly the organization that you’re led to believe is on your side and is working for good, but is actually corrupted, adding depth to the story. It’s supposed to be a plot twist, like if they rebooted Pokémon ruby and sapphire again, it would be really cool if it turned out that Mr. Stone was in control of Deoxys, and forced it to bring the meteor to earth in the after game. (I wasn’t born yet when the oh games came out and I was six when alpha and omega came out so I only know the remakes, don’t at me ok?) cuz when I was ten, playing Pokémon sun for the first time, it was so cool when it turned out that team skull was a front for the Aether foundation’s inch worse shenanigans, and lusamine turned into that squid monster! And with team yell, it wasn’t as climactic, but I do still think it was really cool that rose corp. was behind all of it, trying to stop climate change. (If I got that wrong, I played those when I was twelve so I don’t remember all the details.) with ruby and sapphire, it wasn’t as good, but that’s mainly because I got it spoiled for me by the internet.
It's exciting the first time it happens, even the second time it happens it's still fresh enough, but like any other tropes it gets predictable.

or maybe it doesn't work that way. i meant that in terms of solo battles, not doubles. yes, an ally may be affected, but if they have an attack-raising move, they could just use that and attack the opponent with their attack stat as if their attack stat wasn't lowered. but yes, you've got a point there

TBH part of me does feel like "traditional evil teams" were stopped because... they weren't special anymore. Team Plasma was the best, of course, but after them came Team Flare who were honestly... absurdly generic. Copy-pasted Team Rocket plots, Legendary literally shoved into their plans at the last minute, they want to blow everyone up because SOCIETY, and Lysandre being their boss was actually meant to be a twist? I think the utter lack of ingenuity in their story was what motivated the series to experiment more with evil team archetypes, and those "experiments" simply don't line up with the supervillains of the first six generations. That being said, Team Skull and Team Star rock, and Team Yell is a fun concept despite being by far the smallest scale.
