Turns out they were disputing w 2 other eateriea and they had started to get flooded w spam calls as well as false orders. Reason it sucked was cause you had to wait 10-15mins even when u ordered jist one but i guess that was also a good thing being made when u order it

Mind you this is corporate behavior. Dealing with Facebook and Google employees has generally not been positive. Oddly (perhaps) the half a dozen times I dealt with Apple employees the interaction was high powered but ok.

Your business sounds a bit fragile if a few cancelled orders are a serious issue. I run a construction contracting business and I get very occasional cancellations, maybe 1 a year, and I’m already overbooked anyway so it’s not an issue. What do you do?

I went there a couple of weeks ago! Unfortunately I’m gluten intolerant, but luckily they also sale Gluten Free pies! I got the cherry flavor and it was delicious 😋
Based on some articles it was a third party vendor called City Flavor who made the orders. Meaning it wasn't even Tesla who made the orders but a vendor cater for Tesla. Pretty much they should cancel their contract with that vendor for misrepresentating them or even worst sue them.
Where I work, we've made the mistake of fulfilling large orders without a deposit or a PO. That was on us. Lesson learned. And what we make is 100% custom and unusable after the order is cancelled, unlike pies which they could at least blow out in a literal "bake sale".
In life/business. We should never assume. My hope is that her business comes out of this with the support of the community and use this as learning experience to protect her business in the future

How do you know the employee wasn't in kahoots with the vendor? Happens all the time in large corps.
Based on some articles it was a third party vendor called City Flavor who made the orders. Meaning it wasn't even Tesla who made the orders but a vendor cater for Tesla.
Pretty much they should cancel their contract with that vendor for misrepresentating them or even worst sue them.

Where I work, we've made the mistake of fulfilling large orders without a deposit or a PO. That was on us. Lesson learned. And what we make is 100% custom and unusable after the order is cancelled, unlike pies which they could at least blow out in a literal "bake sale".

I know people are saying they should’ve taken a deposit but most small businesses wouldve assumed a juggernaut like Tesla would be good for it.
