Without a doubt I just got it working on my steam deck oled its my first time playing this one and I'm blown away the feel of the game and the graphics are perfect I forgot ps2 games looked this good.
Yeaah...Unfornately. The history is Cannon. This title is one the most important on the plot of all games because the final boss on the "true ending" is the orquestrator of the events of the prior games. So yeah... But great review mate!! This game is notorious for the insane dificulty and skill-based gameplay, but still can be enjoyed by some newbies! (By the way, avoid the PS1 titles, they are not developed by Konami and they have some serious problems on gameplay)
Hey there I’m George. Your review was good. I found your ideas very relevant to my thoughts. I felt in touch with the narrator. Almost seemingly on a personal level. Then I felt informed in an interesting way. Amazing review I’m not even playing contra I clicked on it by accident. But accidentallystumbled upon a great review. Honest is the word; I felt as if you were being honest during the review.
This is an underrated Contra. Even if it has the label "Contra", I would say it is a hidden gem. I fell in love with the game many years ago, that I was able to completed it with S Rank. A lot to memorize, that's true. The 2p option is an asset (and a must on any Contra game), at least to fail together, and good to have "quality time" with family and friends. Nice review.
I know all about beating hard games: I think I am the first and only gamer to beat Sin and Punishment on N64 on hard with turbo and frame skip modes enabled. Some of those runs like the Contra 3 one you described in the video do take disgusting amounts of time. But it is fun to claim an exclusive victory. I say you should get through all the original Contra games, I think you would enjoy it. Great video! I have been looking for challenging PS2 games and this seems like an appropriate one. Keep up the good work.
I agree myself, just subbed recently and it seems like three quarters of the reviews you've done AR games on my Steam account or in my storage trunks with my 7 consoles going back to Atari 2600. I especially like your reviews on 90s FPS games that include the conversion or emulator updates and mods used so people who don't own virtual machine programs can play those great gems, two generations have missed out on playing now, and with new things coming out now like QC: DooM Edition, they are all getting new life with a Fresh coat of paint. Very good videos well made great voice and explanation of things and not afraid to hold back on personal opinion instead of being like a whole bunch of other review and critic fools who are professional fence-sitters free patreon money meanwhile they're actually not. Just seems like every second review you put up is an awesome classic game that either needs to be properly reviewed for the way computer and gaming industry has evolved since they were released, has awesome updates or mods that brings back playability, and ones, just like your channel, that are amazing but horrendously underrated.
The way we look at it, most, if not all, reviews are subjective. The moment you try to hide that is the moment you're not being fair or maybe even honest. It's better to be honest and describe why you think the games are or are not enjoyable instead of trying to be a robot.
Contra nes Contra3 super nes Super c nes Hard corps genesis Hard corps uprising Contra rebirth Wii Contra shattered soldier (feels like a contra 4) Cool memories…back in the day
Damn this game! How am I suppose to focus on the game when all of those brutal guitar riffs in the background are bombarding all over the place? 10/10 for insanity!
You're wrong about the Souls games. The Souls games get indeed easy after you see what's going on. With something like Contra or Ikaruga, even if you know what to do... it doesn't mean you're gonna be able to do it because these games demand precision and speed for long periods of time, in sequences that do not allow any mistakes to be made. Which is why you've never beaten one. You might know what to do... but you'll still won't have the skills to do it. In the Souls games are way more forgivable, you can make mistakes, you have time to breathe and they don't demand concentration and precision 100% of the godamn time. That's why EVERYONE can beat them. The avarage gamer can beat the Souls games if they want. In the case of Contra or Ikaruga... Nope. Even if you love the games, even if you play them for dozens of hours, you might still not be able to beat them (you're proof of that).
This is a very underrated contra game. I think its the music mixed with the gameplay and how well it went together that did me in. I know the game's length is pretty much that of tradition, but with it being a PS2 game, I wish it was either a little longer or had a good amount of unlockable content like Neo had
I was 8 years old when I beat the original Contra without the Konami code. Contra games aren't that hard. I didn't need 2000 attempts to beat Contra III without death. I got S-ranks of Shattered Solider and Neo Contra after playing it awhile. My point? I'm not talented. I was able to master these games without slaving away. They're not as hard as this reviewer is making them out to be.
Practicing to beat hard games is fun, and much more satisfying than spending 40+ hours on a typical rpg, which asks very little of the player and why people gravitated towards them instead of challenging games.
Come on. Like he said it takes alot of time to get good at those games and some just dont have the time. Those games are alot harder than the Souls games.
The most underrated Contra game it's a blast

I love Contra as well and have completed a few of them but this one is exceptionally difficult.
I know what channel I’m binge watching today.
Dude this game looks sick as fuck....
Regret passing it up back in high school

For my money, *Contra: The Alien Wars* on *Super Nintendo* will always be on my top list.
And this is on my 3rd.
i found you a few weeks ago, and by far this channel and it's detailed review of older reviews are absolutely fan freaking tastic.
thanks! we appreciate it.

I love your remarks regarding difficult games! You are so honest, is beautiful to see! Hahahah

Want a cookie?
Show dont tell. Everyone can have a big mouth on the internet.

It ain't Alien Wars (but what is?) but its got its own unapologetic identity. Would actually love to see this one in particular revamped.
Me and my brother use to play this game so heavily I love this game so much we were so close to beating it

do you going to review 007 nigthfire in a day?
Sure. We've discussed doing it.
Annnnnd Subscribed! Great review man! Thx
The commentary is just savage.all facts tho 😆
The story in this game (and Neo Contra) IS canon. 2 games on PS1 are non-canon.
Not a single one? Come on git gud 😅
Come on. Like he said it takes alot of time to get good at those games and some just dont have the time. Those games are alot harder than the Souls games.
Well contra did the right thing and avoided going 3d like metal slug.
there are actually 4 games in the contra series that are 3D
