I am a remote worker myself for an Australian company based in Malaysia. I fully agree with everything that was said by Samuel. Taxation and Retirement planning is super important for people like us.
Gotta agree with what's being shared here. I too am grateful to be working remotely for a foreign company earning USD too. Gotta be more proactive and results must be there.
I resonate with everything he says. Australian companies preach work/life balance, are generous with AL (20 days +), respectful of private time, barely any micromanagement. A dream job that I'm highly grateful for. Of course they pay well too!
That's great to hear! How is it going? Personally I am a data analyst, had some experience in data science too and I'm trying to do freelance. Do you have any advice on how to get started?
I like your content and I would suggest try make a content about working remotely from Malaysia earning USD, EUR or other currency POV. What the impact like tax or rules you need to follow. Thanks
I thought im the only one that have these issues. Glad to hear it from someone else too. The only difference was my company based in the US and Mexico. Im totally aware that in business POV, its cheaper to hire us but i hope they could understand we do spend foreign currency for better education so we can get better pay while living in MYS.

Why not... is doable and actually many people are now earning USD while living in Malaysia. That includes me as well, has been doing it for the past 7 yrs building my own agency in the servicing niche. Tons of opportunities out there and is solely how you strategically approach, and provide your skillset and knowledge in the market.
I am working remotely for a Singapore company but get paid in MYR (consider underpaid if compared with Singapore employee). Although I hope that they pay me in SGD, but overall I am very happy with the work and culture. Personally I am a person that enjoy being alone and self-learing & self-discipline is not an issue for me

How about working in US and staying in US for most of the time and then as a Malaysian? How to be taxed then? I am trying to think about this thing in case I have the opportunity to work there LOL Since US has regulations of 70 years old retirement but Malaysia only until 60 years old and I don't think EPF is enough for me to survive in my retirement days LOL

Whats the point being paid in USD but equivalent to the Malaysian pay in RM? Say your salary for your experience is RM15k. So to glam things up, they pay you 3.1k USD. All these pay in USD all sounds good on paper but in reality , its not.
Not into the video fully yet, but my 20 msian cents is that, either analytics, software or IT support would be the demanding market. Startups are many, they wanna pay top tier skills but lower pay. Its just business. It benefits us really. If you are saying that the company would drill us to the max, its just the same when they hire their local. Encountered several US (unsure of other countries) utubers, who made money thru Upwork that they are glad there is a filter feature that allows them to find company hiring the USs only. Because these company seek for global non US talent. Im working towards that now, at the certification and project stage to showcase skills. I just need to know if its not much a hassle tax wise when they do hire us. By the way, if you think they are going to pay you the same as the would their locals, of course not. Why should they logically right? But compare to the pay you wouldve received if you are hired by a malaysian company. The difference is and should be significant. So once you receive these kind of offers, do due diligence. If its good, then dont compare la why you are not paid as the US or Aus market. You are in malaysia what? Aiyooooo
Basically just applying for a job with a foreign company? Instead of converting your salary to myr they just pay you in their foreign currency like USD?? What’s the big deal? What’s new here? Money tv First time hearing got foreign companies in Malaysia? Another click bait nonsense video from this channel
For some people who are blessed with the opportunity to study abroad and exposed to all these information, this may be nothing new bro. But for normal people like me, I actually learn a lot from this conversation.
@@RayMak Yea, totally agree. Actually not so new to me, but just like reinforcement form of input LOL I went across the internet and found data scientists and video editors are pretty high in demands, though mostly are gigs / freelancer kind of jobs. For other jobs, I'm not sure so it's pretty interesting to see accounting to do this way though I have heard from my senior who is an accountant who works in Malaysia for Malaysian company in remote settings since the COVID-19 pandemic era.

Experiences don't come cheap. Although he didn't say how much he's making, but it's likely after conversion would run into tens of thousands MYR. That's not something many Malaysians get. Otherwise why he would bothered to show his face on YT to share his joy? I still say this is a good video to watch.
@@keithelisio6920 I don't think he disclosed the amount he earns for his main job. He did mention earning approximately RM3000 (on a good day) for a side gig he does, which only takes a couple of hours in a month. Other than that, he only said that he doesn't have to worry about earning more.
