I’ve watched this movie like 3 times and always hated Kevin but for whatever reason, this tragically beautiful song over it made me realise it was actually about post natal depression and the impact it has on the child, who feels they’re so “unlovable” that it pushes them to the point Kevin was because they 1) maybe are jealous of the other kids from loving neurotypical homes or 2) just want to feel noticed in the world for something even if it’s a school shooting because they never felt acknowledged or appreciated for anything growing up with a mum who couldn’t give that to him because the of the VERY REAL effects of post natal depression. There is no enemy in this movie. It’s bittersweet but so fucking gut wrenching at the same time that only mother and son survived, but that hug with unspoken understanding she and Kevin had at the end made me cry harder than ever:
I love how the music you've added heightens the viewer's feelings of confusion towards Kevin as the movie ends; When he says that he isn't so sure about what his motives were, of what he wanted. The movie allows for this very small window, in the duration of which we feel some sort of compassion, some relation with Kevin. It is this short time period that makes the movie truly remarkable. Great video!

at the end of the film he almost learned how to be her son and she almost learned how to be his mother, but it was all too little too late. amazing song to sum their story up.
