If you use some large washers on the side of the receiver tube where you slip the pin it will take away some of that movement left and right. Then use a stabilization piece of hardware to take care of the up and down. Should work.

getting ready to head out and get a hitch like this one, what tools do you need to put it together, I'm in a hurry and couldn't watch the whole thing in one sitting, I scanned the video and see that there are a couple or ratchets being used, a crescent wrench, but what size are the sockets? what else would I need to put it together?

Hi - What is the height when it's in folded the position? I have a spare tire mounted on my back door with a 23" clearance between the hitch and the tire. Thanks in advance.

Christopher, thanks for the great videos. I am now subscribed and looking forward to your future productions. One question, you mentioned fitting under the 22' length to avoid the overcharge on the ferries, but doesn't the medium height van trigger the addition charge for over 7' 2" ?

Great question, I had the same thought but it turns out that Washington State Ferries got rid of the over height surcharge for vehicles under 22'. The fares get confusing if you're longer than 22' (there are some instances where the height matters and others where it doesn't). I had to study the table at www.wsdot.wa.gov/ferries/pdf/washingtonstateferries-currentfares.pdf . That being said, I now regularly go on the ferries and pay the same amount as a standard car (I just have to be careful and how have a ton of stuff hanging off the back of the van :) )

What do you do to prevent the back sensor to see the cargo carrier?

Well, when all else fails, read the box. Says does not include pin. Why would you have a hitch without a pin anyway ?

Quick question, how long it took you to put it together 🤔
    Thank you

Help! Has anyone else had a prob getting the center tongue tube to line up correctly with the 2 carriage bolts? It seems like the rear holes do not line up enough to get the bolt in on mine. It's off quite a bit. I've triple checked all my steps and can't come up with anything but maybe a manufacturer screw up? Please help asap! I'm on a serious deadline! Thanks

We have this exact same issue. Were you ever able to figure out a solution? We even purchased a second carrier in the hope that our tube was drilled incorrectly, but the new one was the same. I've seen a few other videos mentioning this, so I think it's not a rare occurrence. I'm going to try to loosen the end plate a bit to see if that helps before retightening everything (as one video tried successfully). If we have to, I'll maybe try to drill a new hole, but I think the new location will just overlap the existing (misaligned) hole, leaving an opening the shape of a snowman.
