All parties participated but awami league began to arrest leaders just after announcing the election date resulting in a landslide for awami league. Afer that they abolished the caretaker govt system and all the opposition parties excluding awami league allies boycotted the 2014 elections.most shocking part is there was no opponent in 154 seats where 150 needed to form a govt. They won and formed govt. In 2018 that election was an eyewash. All parties participated but awami league began to arrest leaders just after announcing the election date resulting in a landslide for awami league. Now come to the 2024 election in january again like 2014 all the parties boycotted and awami league won a landslide. Could you imagine taking oppostion out from the election intentionally and held an election and win. I am 20 years old and i never got the opportunity to vote and even my father voted in tha last election in 2024 who died 10 years ago in 2013. Could you imagine??? And after all of that your indian govt congratulated first every time after the election. That's why now people of alla ages hate the awami league and modi govt.

I think we Indians needs to acknowledge that in spite of her accomplishments there is some truth that Sheikh Hasina handled opposition to her in a heavy-handed way. That non-compromising attitude works well in a corporation but fails in a democracy where far more elaborate persuasion is vital for survival. It seems the present interim government is showing signs of inclusivity; having even included members of minority communities. Let us all pray and hope for the best and support them as they recuperate and reboot! The alternatives are much worse and unthinkable. The last thing we would want as a neighbor is another Pakistan.
