    Avengers Endgame is probably one of my favourite comic book movies of all time. It's packed from top to bottom with references to the other films in the Infinity Saga and throughout this video we're gonna be breaking down 200 of the best easter eggs in it.
    As always, welcome to the Heavy Spoilers show, I'm your host Paul aka your friendly neighbourhood spoiler-man now let's get into the breakdown!
    Ok so Endgame opens with Hawkeye teaching his daughter how to fire arrows. Not only is this actually Joe Russo's daughter Ava but we can also catch a glimpse of the tracking device that was placed on his ankle after the events of Civil War.
    This ankle monitor would of course also pop up in Ant-Man and The Wasp with Scott Lang too being forced to wear one after breaking the Sokovia accords.
    The bullseye that we see actually appeared in Age Of Ultron in Clints Barn just before Tony came face to face with Nick Fury.
    We can hear birds in the background chirping away but after the snap is carried out these suddenly disappear. After the snap is reversed we get a scene of Ant-Man coming across some birds on a tree showing that things have returned to normal.
    In the bible birds are very symbolic and Noah of course used several to determine whether the earth had returned back to normal similar to what we see in these moments.
    You can also catch the faintest glimmer of dust blowing in the wind which of course symbolises that Hawkeye's family have been killed. Dust is also symbolic of the the bible as the phrase ashes to ashes and dust to dust is used to describe death.
    Half of all life in the universe has been wiped out and this too is later hinted at by the title scene in the Avengers Theme is actually played by half the orchestra. This was purposely done by Alan Silvestri in order to emphasise the way the world currently is.
    Speaking of title sequences, when the Marvel studios logo comes in, all of the characters that were dusted don't actually appear in it at all. (play the one from endgame and infinity war side by side if you can) We can see in the one for infinity war and the one for endgame that a lot of the characters are missing, which hammers home that they have been completely erased from existence.
    Speaking of Infinity War, there's actually several details set up in that film which pay off directly in this one. When talking to Doctor Strange, Tony Stark and Wong, Bruce Banner is surprised to learn that Ben and Jerry's have named an ice cream flavour after him. This gets a big followup in Endgame when we can see Hulk eating it during the planning stages of the time heist.
    Tony uses a nanotech shield to cover himself from an attack by Thanos.

      Edit: Curious about your thoughts about the below. TLDR: The guy who spear headed the MCU with Iron man trying to start it in early 00s with X-men. If it was better, or for worse.
      To think that the building blocks for the MCU were started with X-men in 2000s~ but everyone doubted the idea.
      But this was probably for the best, just due to things like the Dark Knight trilogy proving that comic book movies could go much further then originally believed. Not to mention the CGI & other tech advancements to get the funding into Iron Man.
      Curious on your thoughts about this. I could be wrong but I’m fairly confident that the man who spear headed the MCU originally tempted to but didn’t have the backing, wasn’t taken as seriously.
      X-Men played such a huge role with most Thanos & Adam Warlock+his two other sides. Wether it was needing help from Mister Sinister, Xavier, Phoenix Force Wolverine.

    I notice when Hulk put on the Gauntlet and feeling the energy of the stones when Thor tells Hulk to take it off Cap says wait and asks him are you okay and Hulk says yes he can do it, it reminded me when Cap himself was put in that position of being injected with intense energy when he was given the serum in the First Avenger and Dr. Abraham told Howard to turn it off but Cap still wanted to go through it himself. Someone probably mentioned it but I just wanted to do it to.🤷🏾‍♂️

    24:06 this is also something that is missed by almost everyone, in antman Hank pym leaves shield after a fight with the other founders over missing pym particles, Hank accused the other founders of taking them and punched one of them then storms out, in endgame we learn that a Stark did actually steal them but it wasn’t Howard it was his son Tony meaning that by doing this Tony is closing the loop, these events happened because they always happened, which is odd as they get this bit of time travel right but so meny others wrong, of course the Loki tv show may fix this if it ends with him going back to that moment at the end of first avengers film where he picks up the tesseract as he to would be closing the loop as from that moment onwards time will carry on as it did for the rest of the films even though that leads to his death but now that he may know he is “”meant”” to die he could do one last trick that saves his life and allows loki to come back for more films.
    So the events that lead to the antman film and them having time travel tech in endgame all happened because Tony traveled back in time and stole the Pym particles in the past leading to pym leaving.

    • @1402yash
      @1402yash 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Time travel with the loop theory is not in MCU... Like hulk said.. that would become a different timeline entirely... Changing the past dosent change the future in MCU.. in Christopher Nolan's interstellar this theory is true.. like the coordinates that are binary coded in dust wil be done by cooper in future.. .. that's not how this works in MCU... "Back to the future was a bunch of shit" that's why when Rhodes suggested to kill baby thanos hulk and nebula said it won't work... But shield and hydra within shield have always been after the pym particle.. so obviously a theft attempt might have been taken place...

    • @ClobberingSocks
      @ClobberingSocks 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      yeah i loved a lot about this movie but they’re very wishy-washy about how the time travel actually works, they have hulk specifically say that they arent actually visiting their own past timelines, they are alternate timelines, so actions in the past do not have any effect on their present time, which stays true sometimes, but then they also contradict it in a few points, one of my biggest problems with the movie

    • @ClobberingSocks
      @ClobberingSocks 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      especially with the end to Cap’s story, im really glad that they had him live out his life with Peggy in the past, but the fact that he just ages back into their timeline just causes so many issues, he should have come back through the time transporter old as fuck, or just sent the shield back with a letter saying he isnt coming back or something along those lines, anything that doesnt flat out break the timeline at least

    • @Jon-pw2ik
      @Jon-pw2ik 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ClobberingSocks I don't get why that a problem. He went back, just as they all did, spent a shitton of years there so he was old af, then came back to their timeline at the end and was old af. Why does that cause problems I don't see why

      I know a lot of people complain it’s not as fast paced as Infinity War is but I feel that’s exactly what we needed. Hi I got a detail. When tony snaps, a dead levaithen ( probably wrong spelling ) is dusted too. Tony dusted all thanos's ships too. Eh dusted everything because it could be a reference from Spiderman homecoming. The vulture's suit was made by the technology of the chitauri army from first avenger movie. So tony snapped everything belonging to thanos so that other people don't get this tech and make dangerous weapons.

    This was fun to come back to remember the good times of the MCU.
    Thinking back to the end of Infinity War, nobody in the theatre said a word after the snap. I have goosebumps remembering it right now. Packed theatre, total silence. I don't remember saying anything to my two friends I saw it with until we were outside the theatre.
    The single greatest and most devestating moment in movie history for me.

    HS, great video! One call-back, which I'm not sure people have identified or not, builds upon the Banner/Stark dynamic through an Avengers 1/Edgame connection. In the first Avengers, as Bruce and Tony are in the Helicarrier lab searching for the Space Stone, Banner laments that the Hulk is a curse to which Tony suggests that the Hulk was created for a reason and we'll find out why. In Endgame, before Hulk snaps his fingers, Smulk (smart Hulk) says to Tony that he's made for this.
    That may be a stretch but thought I would suggest it nonetheless.

    Great vid as per usual. Would be good if marvel show the negative side of them reversing the snap in future movies. Maybe a villian is born due to him going mad returning from the snap to find his wife getting banged and having kids with someone else.

    The one with nebula kinda makes sense as to why no one suspected her. Remember her arms are wrapped so when asked she could say her hand was badly damaged and it also makes sense because Old Nebula still had her normal hand while good nebula’s hand is robotic

    Nat probably cuts her bread diagonally as a way of testing if Fury is real or an evil Skrull. Her, Captain Marvel, and Talos are probably the only ones who know this given how close they are. If she hands it to him and he eats it then she knows its an imposter :0 mind blown.

    The scene where Tony Stark is walking mirrors that scene in Iron Man 2 where he's walking. Also if I'm not mistaken, there's a fight that involves Captain America, which is a clever easter egg from a previous movie where he fights.

    Great video!! Side note - not sure anyone has mentioned this, but Scott Lang asks for orange slices because his blood sugar is low from being giant man and expended too much energy. Orange juice and orange slices are notorious in the diabetes world for being a quick-fix when blood sugar is low.

    2 things everyone misses. 1. rhodney says someone blew up the mexican cartel thinking it was ronin. i guess its the punisher as we see something similar inthe netflix series. and for those of you who dont know punisher wears iron patriot armour in comics. 2. hulk says its however long he wants for cap but 5 seconds for us. bucky says he will miss him and smiles when he doesnt return immeadietly which kinda show he always knew that cap aint coming back.

    shake don't pull. and Scott shrinking to survive the blast are probably my favorite attention to details. I mean, I'm pretty sure we know that any other superhero movie wouldn't put that much detail into it. and I just love how quick thinking he is to do that.

    Before Banner uses the stones to bring everyone back, he comments that the radiation is mostly gamma and that it's as if he was made for this. Maybe a stretch, but I think it's a callback to the first Avengers film when Banner is talking with Tony and questions, "So you're saying that the Hulk... the other guy saved my life? That's nice. It's a nice sentiment. Saved it for what?" To which Tony replies, "I guess we'll find out."

    On first viewing I thought Black widow had gone and got her hair styled ombre like. But actually she's just let it grow out since Infinity War so you get the blonde at the bottom and natural on top. This clearly seems to be to represent how some things are just not as important as they were before, which is fair since half the universe just literally disappeared, so maybe a hair cut/recolour isn't on her to do list.

    Thank you Heavy Spoilers. On another point... I was prepping to go to the cinema to watch Endgame, and turned Endgame on online for a bit of background noise. Good thing I did, because from the dusting of Hawkeye's family, i was a loud blubbering crying disheveled husk. I ended up watching it, that first time, at home, alternating between sadness, rage, love, hate, solace, and happiness. Its a wonderful movie that brilliantly caps the saga. 'Nuff said.

    The two best call backs n Endgame, r both for Tony. Those two, being the cheeseburger talk, with little Morgan and Happy. The other, far more memorable one, if not the best call back n the history of the MCU. "I AM IRONMAN...*Snap!!!". That single moment made everyone everywhere think back to the end of IM1. N doing so, it makes the audience remember all the good times over a vast amount of time. Directly after they did that, Tony dies. Making it arguably the saddest moment n MCU history. The way they did that, with timing, editing and acting, was flawless. It was intelligent, very well planned, and heartbreaking. I ain't scared to admit, that I was fighting back tears like hell. It leaves us feeling like we all just lost a friend. That's why it was so brilliant. That's just me. 👍💯 Happy New Year, everyone.
