moral of the story: don't buy hoodies over $70-100 or you'll slowly lose your sanity
Same goes for most clothes tbh. Outside of certain materials like leather. Almost nothings needs to cost more than ~$150, past that you're paying for the brand, original cuts, hype etc
Based on my experience, that seems to be the sweet spot. Spend more and you'll eat yourself alive constantly thinking about all the other stuff you could've bought with the money or never actually wearing the damn hoodie because you wanna keep it like its your sunday best only for "special occasions". Spend less and it won't last, will look like crap after 3 washes, will lose it's shape, colour, etc. The $70-$100 price point is definitely hitting the sweet spot where you can get something nicely branded, well made, good quality and fashion cut that you won't mind getting dirty through daily driving.

@@mifiamigahnadeath grips charged me like $20 for a Gildan tee, It was cheaper at the concert than online.
They gotta make money somehow, and printing on Gildan or Fruit of the Loom is cheap and let's you sell your merch for a reasonable price. Plus venues take a cut from sales at concerts as well, keep that in mind

My favorite hoodie I have is a vintage 90's fruit of the loom xl that a guy sewed a band shirt onto the front and back of it (disincarnate - dreams of the carrion kind), they were built DIFFERENT back then. The material has held up so well and it is super soft and comfortable and has a distinct fade on it which with the slight distressing from wear over the years altogether gives it a lived in appeal, paid 50$ for it.

The ending was a shock. Didn’t see it coming. But you’re right the Loro look and fits like a sweater (but with a hood). I’m happy with the feel and shape of my Essentials. I also have an expensive YSL. Then Essentials one is still the best and most worn. Overall assessment is spot on.

Carhart has a really good hoodie especially for the price and if anyone in your family is a nurse, cop, firefighter anything like that u can get a discount and it’s not even expensive to begin with. It’s my go to

Yep! I've been using a rain defender hoodie for 5 years working outside. As sun-bleached as it is, and as many tiny holes and worn areas it has, its still a warm, comfy, and high-value piece. I've been debating whether or not to grab another for casual wear because I don't wanna feel like I'm always at work - but shit, its the best, hands down.
Also Big & Tall support, husky gang rise up.
CarHartt is great quality and a fantastic bang for your buck, but their products are kinda ugly. Tradies and contractors might come around asking if you know all the albums, too.

$100 is the absolute max I’ll spend on a hoodie. Also, there’s a Loro Piana near me. I went in having no idea how insane the brand was… I tried on a shearling jacket, and legit had an existential crisis when the sales associate told me it was $14k.
It all starts with $100 then you see a hoodie you really like, you’ve tried it on, fits perfect but it’s 200$ but you justify and buy it then a month goes buy and you see a hoodie for 350$ and there’s nothing like it out there. You end up buying it because you like it so much. Then boom they got you hooked and next thing you know you spend 500 smackers on a hoodie
my fav hoodie is my $600 Rick EDFU gimp zip up. fits so nice, keeps me warm and cozy in the cold, but still breathable when its hot.
Workwear brands are probably best bang for the buck. I got a carhartt hoodie and a ridgecut hoodie from tractor supply the other day, both for around $80 on sale. The ridgecut wasn’t a brand I was familiar with but seemed to be at least equal to the carhartt in material quality and comfort for slightly less cost, plus less obvious branding/logos

*Fruit of the loom it is often available in "lightweight" and "premium" versions (made of thicker material), at least in my case - in Poland, Europe.
Interestingly, I recently wanted to buy a Gildan sweatshirt online, it is little known in Poland, but I usually associate Canadian-made items as of quite good quality, and i really like the color.

A couple years back I bought a grey banana republic hoodie on sale for like $25 and it's my favorite hoodie that I have ever seen/owned/yeah
Honestly my 1.2k ERD hoodie has an amazing fit, custom fading but quality wise doesn’t hold a candle against some streetwear brands with blanks from portugal.
For me, hoodies are form over function.
Leather goods like boots or jackets are the things where high ticket items are worth it imo.
A few weeks ago a footlocker near me had some of the champion reverse weave hoodies for $10 on sale. Best hoodie I’ve ever bought for $10 by far
Ny favourite is valentino undercover hoodie, the design is great and it feels very nice. My second favourite is probably a heron preston and ami hoodie. Recently I love to wear sweaters and I have some great sweaters from a cold wall.

Honestly, for me Hanes, Gildan, Walmart, and Target and the like already make clothes that are good enough especially for basics. To get to the next level of sticking out is just a matter of adding spice and you don’t have to spend much.

@@signehogblom1971 yes and no. Zegna has very good construction, but kind of over priced. You should aim for it if you can splurge, but don't go out of your way for it. They also go on sale around the holidays from time to time.

the thing is I have Gildan's for my dropshipping business, and the hoodie+print costs about 20 or 25 bucks, I sell them for 45,the quality of it is actually not bad at all and it doesn't get rough after the 10th wash, I've had my sample hoodie for a year and it still fells and wears as it did when I got it

I own clothing line and hoodie are one thing that you really can have the biggest margin while still being competitive on pricing(I mean the cheapest cost to produce hoodie here is $3/4 so even with Gildan pricing the profit is double the cost. It cost me $20 per item and that's already the best hoodie quality from manufacturer that I can find around my area with front and back printing. I think spending $50 - $100 are the right amount if you wanna search for the best hoodie quality without paying hype or branding taxes.

I just got a wonderful hoodie recently, 100% heavy cotton, dark green with a kitchy high school sports team logo, for $7 at a thrift store in Southern Vermont. New sustainable pieces are great. But, to me, buying and wearing what is already there, especially if it's older, better quality vintage items, is fun and a no-brainer in terms of sustainability. Thrift, hunt vintage and do clothing swap parties with your friends. :)

I paid $250 for a Babar hoodie from Rowing Blazers and it is not very comfortable. My favourite hoodie is a $250 Paul Smith dinosaur hoodie. It’s thin and smooth, but no pocket. I also have some Indigo Children very oversized hoodies. They’re nice. About $150. My nicest, comfortable, good quality, nice weight, is that super oversized Marques Almeida hoodie that was popular like 5 years ago. $700. Definitely feels more expensive than the $250 Babar one.
I had a $450 KTZ hoodie years ago, it had good weight and it felt good quality, but i gave it to my nephew. ~$200-300 seems the best range for me. But it really depends on the brand.

what are y'all's opinions on the yeezy gap hoodie? i bought the brown one upon initial release for $100 and it was amazing. love the slightly cropped fit, the thick double layer fabric, it feels like a hug. had to be the black one when they rereleased the black and blue colorway for $80.
I bought a Blonded hoodie from Frank Oceans website, it’s literally the best hoodie I’ve ever had. It’s super thick and keeps you warm and the shape is so nice it’s a little baggier fit but it’s still snug and hugs you right. It was $170 and worth every penny in my opinion. The quality was surprisingly very good considering shirts from blonded are usually not good
