    Gotta get me a Viszla! Love those Hungarians! Always said if I was ever going to have a pointing hound, it would be a Viszla. Wonderful film!!

    I'm diggin' the little competitive nudge at 3:30. She's sort of saying "Come on let's step it up." Great breed, love the Vizsla!

    Your 'Baby' is precious. Vizsla's and my two Weimar's (Baron and Kozmo) have human brains. Only two breeds i'll ever own. Smartest and most loving breeds. Enjoyable Vid.

    I know a family that wants to get a Vizsla pup. I’m not sure they could handle a dog with this activity level

    We thought we were buying a red nose pitt... turns out she is a Vizsla-Pitt mix. We found this out buy watching Dogs 101. I never heard of this breed until then. Now we are IN LOVE with the breed. These dogs have so much love to give that it can "at times" be over whelming. Also, they are the most silliest and goofiest dogs I've been fortunate to be around. Couldn't imagine life without her now.

    That's the way, get the dogs following you on the mountain bike.
    I have 2 black labs and the absolutely love running behind me or in front.
    I sometime do 20 miles with them, with plenty of rest in between.

    I'm picking up my vizsla pup in 2 weeks. My biggest goal is to train him to accompany me off leash while on my mountain bike. I saw your earlier suggestions. I was planning at an early age just to introduce him to bikes and trails. I like your tip about recall. Any tips for getting the dog to stay behind the bike - i know you mentioned that could be an issue

    If you find some treats he values as a higher reward then you can pattern him to receive treats intermittently only when he is following behind. I didn't have to do that with mine and most folks I've talked to say their dog seems to have a good sense of being behind the bike anyway. They're a pretty smart breed; I bet it won't take him long to figure out what to do.

    • @cosmokenney
      @cosmokenney 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Exactly, they will figure it out. My GSP refuses to stay behind my bike. But my Vizsla always ran at heel just beside the rear wheel. Vs are amazing dogs.

    I really really want a Vizsla, I just love them, however, I question if I should get one because they are a high energy dog and needs tons of exercise almost all day everyday. I will be working so I'm not sure how I can incorporate that. I do love outdoors and do outdoor activity, but not too excessively. Heard you can mentally tire your Vizsla, hope that will work.

    • @Aedony
      @Aedony 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +J8270361507 you should consider bringing your future vizla to a doggie daycare or have someone spend some time with him/her while you're at work. Having such a high energy dog alone for longer than some hours on a regular base will not end well.

      I recommend one, just have a backyard that they can run around, they just run in the backyard for fun. Just make sure to walk them once a day like every other dog.

  • @cgreeneblue
    @cgreeneblue  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Work on recall first (in case of other dogs, animals etc.) Many seem to not like too much separation from their owners anyway so they will usually stick with you. Ours is quite used to running with the bike but will still dive in front sometimes so you have to stay on your toes for that!

  • @cgreeneblue
    @cgreeneblue  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you. I should make note though that she is very small for the breed, She is actually 3 y/o.

      Relax, she's licking the residue off the ice cream container not wolfing down a double scoop like you and I would. You're of course generally correct. I think most folks know that it's not good practice to feed chocolate to your dog... or ice cream for that matter.

    • @meganbenn6772
      @meganbenn6772 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's fine to give them vanilla ice cream (as long as it's not too often) and yes chocolate isn't good for dogs but a little bit won't hurt them.

    Wow that dog is so completely UNTRAINED....disaster waiting to happen. Jumping up and down at the door like that...ridiculous. Please get yourself some training so you can make your dog stable.........so sad.

      Pull your head out your arse Karl.

    • @kras230
      @kras230 9 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Why because I know the breed and temperament of vizslas? They are commonly viewed as untrained or not diciplined when in fact their genetic make up is what makes them act this way. They are known as a velcro breed for a reason. So pull your head out if your ASS, and have a nice day
