GRANITE MOUNTAIN HOTSHOTS MEMORIAL HIKE YARNELL, ARIZONA

  • Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial State Park was dedicated in 2016 as a place to remember the 19 Granite Mountain Hotshot Firefighters who were lost on June 30, 2013, while fighting the Yarnell Hill Fire. To hike the trail is to better understand the experience of these men as well as to appreciate the beauty of the town of Yarnell and the surrounding areas. The Hotshots Trail starts from the parking lot trailhead up to the overlook, where you'll see sweeping views in every direction. Then it continues down the Memorial Trail, where you can pay your respects at the site where the Hotshots were recovered. I label this awesome hike as moderate at a 7-mile round trip and 1700ft of elevation gain. This is such an amazing trail and adventure that you need to experience for yourself one day!

    My Uncle was the man who designed the memorial. This was his proudest project. He recently passed away.

    Visited this spot a few years back. Only made it part way up the trail. I would imagine that is the same route the crew took.

    I'm planning on doing this hike before it gets too hot this year and to go see the memorial and honor these heroes. But what is the cell reception like on the hike?

    • @adventuringoutdoorswitheric
      @adventuringoutdoorswitheric  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, this is definitely a must do hike, and you will totally love it! To be honest with you, I made this video probably around 3 years ago, and I totally don't remember about the cell reception. I do apologize about that. But I do appreciate you checking out the video!
